Welcome to this guided meditation to support you in connecting more fully and deeply with what safe interpersonal relational connection feels like in your mind and your body.
As always,
If you'd like to welcome in the soothing self-havening touch,
It will deepen the experience by calming your brain and creating deeper connection to neuroplasticity.
The touch begins by crossing your arms over your chest and gently resting your fingertips on top of your shoulders,
Doing a nice gentle moving hug down your arms or imagining you're washing your palms under warm water or gently brushing your fingertips across your brow or around your eyes following your cheekbones.
All of these experiences will deepen the opportunity for your brain to connect more fully and safely into this guided journey.
As always,
I'd like to invite you to start with a gentle breath in to a count of four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And release to a count of six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Beautiful.
And take a moment and invite your body to just gently rock back and forth as you move into relationship with your unique centered calm.
Where does your body come to its natural rest letting you know that this is its preferred space?
Deepening our connection inward is critical for understanding and connecting to safety with others.
As you've now found your center,
If you'd like to invite your eyes to gently drift close,
Let's go on a little journey across the course of the previous days,
Weeks,
Months,
Or even years and notice a person in your world or even an animal with whom you feel deeply connected.
And once you found that individual,
Invite your center of awareness to focus in on them,
Inviting them into the present moment with you right here and right now.
And notice connecting back into your mind and your body,
What information is coming up,
What data is being shared with you that lets you know this is a person with whom you feel safe and connected.
Invite your attention to drift from the tippy top of your head all the way down to the tippy toes of your toes,
Noticing what parts of your mind and your body feel connected to this being,
What shifts as you turn your attention to them.
And I'd like to invite you to find a particularly sweet or pleasant exchange that you've had with this being.
And notice now does anything new show up?
Move into that moment as though it's happening again right here,
Right now.
Maybe it's an interaction that the two of you shared or perhaps even an interaction that you observed them sharing with another.
So often there is such sweetness and watching how the people we care about interact with others that we also care about or with the world at large.
Noticing this moment,
Inviting it to become as big,
Bold and vibrant as you can make it.
Let's welcome in another gentle,
Soothing breath to a count of four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And release to a count of six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Beautiful and connecting more fully with this pleasant,
Sweet exchange.
If this moment had a color,
What color would it be?
Is it a color that you've seen on your life's journeys?
Perhaps an energetic feel of a color like warm sunlight or the soothing blue of the ocean.
Whatever this color is,
Invite your attention to return back to your mind and notice how this color came into being.
How did your own beingness find this color?
And does it have a home within you?
Connection point.
Where does this color and this energetic connectedness to this being that you have chosen live?
And as you find that space in your mind and your body,
Again,
Inviting your mind to travel from the tippy tops of your head down to the toes of your toes,
Tuning in to where that experience is anchored.
Notice now if it has a warmth or a vibration,
A motion or a movement.
Does that energy even have a shape?
And as you're connecting more fully and deeply to that experience,
Imagine you're breathing all of this in and inviting it to expand as you inhale all the way in,
Deepening that belly breath and a gentle exhale out.
And noticing now that this is your mind and body's experience of connection,
Of intimacy and safety to another being.
This is a safe harbor for you.
The space that lives on within you,
A moment treasured and shared between you and another that allow your mind and your body to remember safe connection.
And notice if this idea or this energetic experience has a name or even if it belongs to a specific item in the room around you or even a piece of jewelry that you're wearing,
Clothing,
Something that it is anchored into that whenever you like,
You can return to,
Especially in moments of self-doubt or loneliness,
Insecurity or sadness.
Welcoming in that gentle soothing breath and breathing in your identified colors and energies into that anchored spot in your body will let your mind and body know that you're not alone on this journey,
That you have connection and that you are safe.
I encourage you to repeat and practice this experience with as many connections as you can and keep revisiting this specific one that you've already started to anchor into your very beingness,
Your very own safe harbor of connection.
