Every new year, we promise ourselves to do things differently, and yet most of our good intentions never make it past January. Why is that, and what can you do to make your new years resolutions last until December? This course is created to help you change your life. Want to feel more relaxed? More focused? Healthier? Happier? More productive? Would you like to change your job, your career, or how you relate to yourself or to others? Whatever it is you wish to change, this course will help you do it. Researchers estimate that about 70 to 80 percent of our behavior is habitual and unconsciously triggered. This means that if you do not understand how habits are formed, 70 to 80 percent of what you do on a daily basis, is outside of your awareness, and therefore beyond your control. In this course, you will learn how to analyze, understand, and influence unconscious processes and habitual behaviors. The course will allow you to control parts of your life that have previously felt outside of your control or ability, and it will help you to become the person you wish you could be. How do we do this? With a 50/50 mix of theory and practice sessions, Inge will take you through all the steps of changing your life around, reframing your mindset, and building the habits that will lead towards the change you want. Every uneven session number, she will explain a psychological topic from a scientific perspective. For example, how habits are formed in the brain. Every even session number, you will practice with the content. For example, you will design your own habit according to the scientific theory of habit formation. At the end of this course, you will have a multi-year visual map of who you wish to become, what you can do to become that person, and how you can do it in a fun, easy, and non-stressful way. This course is suitable for anyone who is ready to change something in their life, but feels they would benefit from a structured, evidence-based approach that will not only get them started, but will keep them going consistently, and with confidence. Source Statement: No idea is ever created in solitude. Creativity is collaboration. The creation process of this course has been heavily influenced by the ideas, methods, and studies of other researchers and writers. If you want to learn more about the topics I discuss in this course, I highly recommend reading their work. Habitual and automatic behaviors BJ Fogg – Tiny Habits James Clear – Atomic Habits Dan Ariely – Predictably Irrational Positive Psychology Carol Dweck – Mindset Barbara Fredrickson – Positivity Identity Sally Maitlis – Who am I? Adam Grant – Think Again
Before becoming a yoga and meditation teacher, Inge Wolsink obtained her PhD in psychology at the university of Amsterdam, where she worked as a researcher and lecturer for eight years. While doing her academic work, she noticed a gap between the knowledge in psychological science, and the tools and practices that were available to the general...

Lektion 1
Theory - Why You Are Here & Why You Haven’t Changed (Yet)
In this theory session, you find out why you haven’t (yet) lived up to your true potential. If you haven’t changed yet, that is not your fault. You can change! In this session, I discuss the myths of change that are holding us back, and I point out what actually matters for change: not willpower, not self-criticism, not great goals, and not doing it big.
Lektion 2
Practice - How To Set Up Your Practice
In this practice session, you will apply the rules of change and design how you will make a habit out of listening to this course. This session is designed to give you the best chances of successfully completing the course.
Lektion 3
Theory - Why You Do What You Do: How Humans Learn New Behavior
In this theory session, you will become aware of how your inner voice influences your learning process. You will challenge the assumption that in order to improve, you need to be hard on yourself. In this session, you learn how positive emotions and a positive mindset will help you to return to your practice again and again.
Lektion 4
Practice - How To Release Difficult Emotions & Reframe Your Beliefs
In this practice session, you will learn to feel and name difficult emotions, place kind attention on them, and release their intensity. Allowing and releasing these emotions help to not get attached to the negative beliefs that follow if we don’t pay attention to how we feel. We can reframe the stories we tell ourselves by practicing loving-kindness.
Lektion 5
Theory - Why You Are Who You Are
In this theory session, you will become aware of how you identify yourself. What do you say when someone asks you who you are or what you do? We often define ourselves with one or a few labels. In this session, we talk about the limitations you may unconsciously be putting on your capacity for change if you define yourself in this way.
Lektion 6
Practice - How To (Re)Frame Your Identity: From Canal To River
In this practice session, you will re-frame your identity. Defining yourself broadly and flexibly allows you to loosen rigidity around what you need to achieve. It allows you to live true to how you really want to spend your life, instead of shooting straight towards a fixed goal that needs to validate who you are.
Lektion 7
Theory - Who Do You Wish To Become?
In this theory session, you will find out (more about) who you wish to become. We will explore your aspirations to build a new identity, and expand your understanding of how you can build a new identity with the use of the river metaphor.
Lektion 8
How To Identify Your River & Its Streams
In this practice session, you will define who you wish to become, and which qualities and behaviors will help you to become that person. You will put the river metaphor into practice, visualizing who you want to become: the river, and what you need to do in order to become that person: the streams that feed the river.
Lektion 9
Theory - Why The Key To Change Is Specific Behavior
In this theory session, you will learn about the importance of behavior. Far too often, we focus on goals, intentions, and on confidence. What we should focus on, is clearly defining, with precision, exactly what behavior is needed to change. The key to change is not goals, not intentions, not confidence, the key to change is consistent behavior.
Lektion 10
Practice - How To Select Your Super Source
In this practice session, you will select the sources you need to feed your streams. We will select specific behaviors that are easy to do, enjoyable to do, and have a big impact on your river. At the end of this session, you will have selected a super source: a behavior you will start with that has the highest chances of becoming a consistent source for your river.
Lektion 11
Theory - Why The Learning Loop Affects Your Future Behaviors
In this theory session, you will expand your knowledge about how you learn behavior. You will explore the learning loop, a sequence of events in your brain and body that follows the same pattern every time you learn and consolidate behavior.
Lektion 12
Practice - How To Design Your Learning Loop
In this practice session, you will implement your knowledge about how you learn behavior. You will design your own learning loop, identify the right cue, the right reason, the right ability level, and the right reward.
Lektion 13
Theory - Why Seasons Will Affect The Waterflow & Why The Optimal Environment Is Essential
In this theory session, you will become aware of the inevitability of seasonal changes, and the importance of designing the environment of your super source with care. Building your super source can be easy if you design it well, changing your identity is a process that needs to run its course and will come with seasons. Patience and consistency are the keys to a sustainable water cycle.
Lektion 14
Practice - How To Spring The Source
Amazing! You have been consistent with your practice. By now, you may start to feel that yes you can change! In this last session, you will spring your super source. Combining everything you have learned over the past 13 sessions; you leave this session with your personal roadmap to change. It is time for you to start walking! Thank you for practicing with me, I am honored to witness the start of a great journey.

This course helped me understand so much about my habits and why certain resolutions did not stick. But it did not stop there, because it is also very practical and serves as a guide how to do it better. It‘s science-based but makes the concepts very tangible because you understand their appearance in everyday live. If you have the craving to...

Absolutely amazing course! I've been taking my time, repeating lessons to make sure I'm ready for the next. I love that it is a mix of theory and practice. I enjoyed using my journal as part of the practice. I've already implemented my super source every day and have had to use my smallest goal on two occasions (which is necessary as I have...

Great course. I loved the format of meditation and practice (action). The course got me back to my journal and as a result of completing the class I am baffled that the next thing (i.e. river) is really as simple as following the steps you laid out. I also think that something happened to me during this process that got me “unstuck” from making...

Fantastic course! As a scientist, it helps me to learn the science behind how we creat habits. It's the same process for both good and bad habits. Once you learn the process, you can recognize the links to less desired behaviors and form better ones instead!
