Thank you for joining me today.
In today's meditation,
We will focus on grounding ourselves not only to the earth,
But inside of our bodies.
Let's begin by closing the eyes and allowing yourself to tune inward.
Please be especially careful to make sure that you're in a space that feels supportive,
Peaceful and safe.
Looking now to extend the inhale and the exhale and allowing your mind to quiet,
Leaving the outside world behind,
Focusing simply on what you notice internally.
Instantly and easefully scanning through the body,
Noticing places of tension and sending your breath to those spaces,
Allowing the breath to help release,
Renew and relax those areas of tension.
Imagine now that you have a strong root extending from the base of your spine.
This root extends and travels down through the space that you're in,
Into the ground down,
Down through the earth to its hot lava core.
This powerful source of energy is connected to you.
It grounds you,
It holds you firm and strong to the earth,
To your center.
You can imagine that the things you need can travel up this cord from the earth as well as releasing things you'd like to let go of down through this cord.
Let's spend a moment in this process,
Soaking in the things we need,
Allowing the earth,
The mother earth to provide for us,
To nourish us as well as receive the things we'd like to let go of.
Remembering to continue deep,
Peaceful and easy breaths.
Now that we're connected to a grounding outside of ourselves,
We'll begin to ground ourselves in the body.
This process involves moving our consciousness to different spaces in the body and experiencing life from those places.
To begin with,
Imagining your consciousness,
Yourself in your feet,
Taking your whole mind,
Body and spirit and becoming your feet.
Experiencing the world through the feet.
What can you see?
What do you feel?
What is the work that's done here in the feet?
What are the gifts of the feet?
Getting into these,
What would it be like to live a day in your life as your feet?
What can you notice that you may have never thought about before?
Moving upward now to the lower legs and the knees.
Bringing your full consciousness to this area of the body.
Noticing what you feel,
What you see,
What you might experience if you were your lower legs and your knees.
What might you notice about the work of this space of your body that you'd never considered before?
Continuing to take deep,
Nourishing breaths,
Full inhales and full exhales.
Traveling now to the upper legs.
Experiencing the world through your hamstrings and your quadriceps.
Bringing your full consciousness to this portion of your body.
Looking out through your upper legs.
What is the world like here?
What does it feel like internally here?
Moving now upward into your pelvis and your bottom.
Bringing your whole consciousness to this portion of your body.
Imagining you can see the world and feel the internal world of your pelvis and your bottom.
Many important functions happen here.
What is the work of this part of your body?
What do you notice that you may have never noticed before?
Breathing in,
Sending your healing breath,
Your conscious breath.
Breathing out through the eyes of the pelvis.
Moving upward now into the area of the belly button,
The low back,
The intestines.
Sinking in to this space of your body.
Seeing and feeling the work that takes place here.
Experiencing fully with your mind,
Your body,
And your spirit.
What it might be like to live from this space of your body.
To move your mind here.
Breathing in,
Allowing presence.
Bringing yourself a little higher now to the chest.
The place where the heart resides,
The lungs give us life force.
The mid-back supports us.
Bringing our full consciousness to this space,
To this portion of our bodies.
Seeing things we may have never noticed before.
Moving now up to the upper chest,
The top higher lungs,
The clavicle bones,
Maybe a little even into the throat.
Bringing our mind,
Our body,
And our spirit into this part of the body.
Living experiencing life from this space.
What do you notice?
What do you feel?
What might you learn about living life through this space that you'd never thought about before?
Breathing out through the eyes of the upper chest and throat.
Continuing with deep breaths here.
And now moving up into the head,
Connecting to this familiar space where we spend most of our lives living from.
What might you see here that you hadn't noticed before now that you've spent time living from the rest of your body?
Breathing into the head space,
Remembering the grounding of the cord we sent into the earth.
We are connected to Mother Earth.
We are connected to our own bodies.
We are connected to our spirit and connected to our minds.
Knowing that you can use this exercise anytime you find yourself unable to be grounded in your own body.
This is where you tap into your own wisdom.
This is the space from which good decisions and loving life experiences can happen.
Remember to come back here when you feel a disassociation with your own presence.
Taking some final deep breaths,
Feeling the grounding connection to the earth and to yourself.
Take this centeredness out into your day and make it a wonderful day.
Thank you for joining me.
