Our world can be overwhelming and especially to highly sensative individuals. This meditation support anyone who experiences overwhelm while interacting in the world by leading them through a grounding exercise followed by a protection exercise. Giving the user control over how they experience the energy of the world.

Thank you for joining me today for this meditative practice focused on grounding and protecting our energy.

In today's world,

Those of us who are sensitive,

Maybe a highly sensitive person,

Can be very bombarded by the energies and the activities of the world around us and the people around us.

In this mindfulness practice,

I will help you to ground yourself and then use a tool to protect your energy so that you can decide what comes in and affects you and what doesn't.

So go ahead and make yourself comfortable.

Make sure you're in a place where you feel supported and safe.

And if you're not in that place,

Move if you can or create a safe space for yourself.

Close your eyes and take away that visual sense.

That can help right away to diminish the feeling of bombardment of the energies around us.

Start to tune in to yourself,

Shifting your attention internally and beginning to focus on your breath.

Just noticing where it is right now.

And then intentionally beginning to make the inhale and the exhale longer.

Breathing what's happening through all parts of your body and your mind.

Searching and scanning for any places of tension,

Any places of gripping,

Any places of dis-ease and sending that long inhale and long exhale to those locations.

Breathing in a healing breath and sending it into that tension.

Allowing your breath to be the relaxer,

The thing that allows for tension to just ooze out of your body and leave.

Continue taking nice long inhales and exhales.

And as you do so,

I'd like you to imagine that your spine continues down out of your body through the chair you're seated in,

Through the structure around you,

Down into the earth.

It travels down through the layers of the earth,

Continuing downward until it gets to a place where it feels like it can secure itself.

Maybe it wraps around something.

Maybe it branches out like tree roots.

It's your choice.

Whatever that this cord,

This grounding cord that continues your spine,

Whatever helps that feel secure and connected to the earth.

Consider that now and continue breathing in and out.

Deep inhales,

Deep exhales.

Knowing now that you are connected to the earth.

You are grounded in its energy.

You are stable and supported.

And as you take these deep breaths,

Feeling grounded here,

Come back up to your body.

Notice again any places of tension.

Send your breath to those locations.

Now I'd like you to imagine that around you is a strong,

Transparent bubble.

It's a shield.

It's a personal protection.

And it's not only around your body,

But it's also around the energy that surrounds your body.

Whatever you would consider to be your personal space.

So this bubble is 360 degrees around you.

And it's there for you.

This is a boundary between you and your energy and the rest of the world.

And only you can choose what comes through this bubble.

As you continue to take deep breaths,

You might imagine that you can touch the inside of the bubble.

You can reach out and feel it with your hand.

You can know that this bubble is there to keep your energy in and keep the energy of the world out.

You have this bubble and you have this grounding cord that's holding you to the earth,

Helping you feel stable and connected.

Now say to yourself,

I am safe inside of this bubble and only what I allow in can come in to affect me.

I'm still able to care,

To provide services,

To provide empathy,

To be present for others.

And with this bubble of protection on,

I can still do those things.

But I am protected from energies that I may not want seeping into my energy.

Feel safe and secure in this knowing that you're in control of your energy and you're setting this boundary to protect yourself.

And continue to take deep inhales and deep exhales,

Checking back in again to notice any tension that's creeped into your body,

Breathing,

Relaxing it,

Feeling strong and secure in this bubble and this grounding to the earth.

Stay here with me for another moment.

Breathing being one with this connection,

Being one with this protection,

Being present,

Being here now in this moment.

And remember,

As you go out into your day,

You can use this imagery and words anytime you need to.

Anytime you need to pull back in,

Protect yourself,

Ground yourself,

And then go back out to face the world.

Be strong,

Be protected.
