Sometimes we just feel that things are so chaotic,
Swirling around us,
Whether that's external circumstances or internal thoughts,
Feelings,
Emotions.
And it's hard to find stillness and space amongst it all.
So I invite you to take a moment to centre in and find some stillness amongst all that's swirling around you.
I invite you to begin with finding physical stillness,
Whether that's sitting,
Lying down,
Standing up,
And to take a moment to centre yourself physically so that you find ease and balance.
Letting your body stack up on itself to support itself.
And if you're lying down,
Let your limbs rest and then just take a moment to notice how you are doing.
If it helps,
Close your eyes or just soften your gaze.
Notice where you're holding that swirling,
That busyness,
That overwhelm.
If it's a specific spot,
You may want to place a loving hand there and breathe into it.
And now I invite you to imagine that all the swirling is a tornado,
A storm swirling around you and you're at the centre of it.
You may feel the storm trying to pull you in,
But I invite you to notice where your body touches the floor,
To ground you,
To notice the space around you.
Because the storm may be swirling,
But you're in this sacred space of calm.
Take notice what that space feels like.
Whether it feels tight or expansive,
This is your space.
Take a breath into it.
Give yourself permission to be here in this stillness and you can stay here,
Simply marinating in the stillness as long as you choose.
Another invitation,
Particularly if you want to get clarity on some of the things that are swirling,
Is to stay grounded in this stillness and at the same time get curious about some of the things that are swirling around.
You may want to choose open curiosity or you may want to focus on a specific element that's swirling.
And while it's at this distance from you,
Be curious about how it feels,
What you know about it,
What's within your control regarding this thing.
And what else?
You may want to spend time with another element in this storm to check in about what you know about it,
How you feel in relation to it.
I invite you to imagine now that through your curiosity,
Space and calm starts appearing between the things that have been swirling.
The storm is calming down.
It's clearing.
Notice how that feels.
As the volume of it and the motion of it becomes more gentle,
What else do you see about the things that you have been holding or needing to deal with?
They're likely still there because that's life.
There are things to deal with.
But it's how we hold them and how we respond to them.
And by giving yourself this space,
You get to choose how you respond and how you hold things.
So my final invitation is to choose what you're going to go away with from this.
There may be an action you need to take or it may simply and powerfully be acceptance or letting go or trusting.
Something more in the human being rather than the human doing.
Whatever it is,
The answer is in your wisdom,
In your inner knowing.
If it feels right to do so,
Place a hand on your heart or wherever else you may feel stillness within you.
This is a place you can connect with whenever you choose to.
It is completely and wholly yours.
