Listen to this practice when experiencing discomfort or distress while travelling on a plane,
Ship or other moving vessel.
Taking some slow and steady breaths.
Following your breath as it flows in and out of your nose or mouth.
If your breathing has become rapid,
Just doing your best to take slow,
Conscious inhalations and slow,
Conscious exhalations.
Letting your intention to feel calm and safe.
You might have a lot of uncomfortable feelings or thoughts going on right now,
But I want you to know that you are safe.
You will get through this and I will be here to support you.
Keeping that steady breathing going and allowing yourself to do whatever you need to do in order to be as comfortable as possible.
Locate a spot on the ground or on the horizon to focus upon if that helps,
Or somewhere inside the vessel,
Or you can even close your eyes if you wish.
Sit in a position that feels good to you or get up and pace around if you need to.
Give yourself permission to do whatever you need to do so that you can breathe and focus on this practice,
Providing that it's safe and within the rules of the vessel that you're travelling on.
Don't be concerned with other people around you.
It doesn't matter what they're doing or thinking.
Let your primary focus be on your own wellbeing and just surrender any thoughts about anyone on board with you.
Pulling all of your attention back into yourself now.
Calling all of your energy back into your body.
Disentangling it from any thoughts,
People,
Things or situations.
Calling every part of yourself back so that you can feel whole and focus on the present.
Just taking each moment,
One breath at a time.
Bringing your attention now to your fingertips.
Using the fingers on one of your hands to gently tap,
Touch or stroke the skin just to the side of the thumbnail on your other hand.
Or in other words,
Give the side of your thumbnail a squeeze.
Aim for the skin where you might get hangnails on the side of your nail and gently tap,
Squeeze or pat this area on both sides of your thumbnail.
Along the side of each of your fingernails and thumbnails are acupressure points which when tapped will help you to calm down your anxiety,
Reduce your elevated heart rate and stop the fight or flight response in its tracks.
This works by sending a message to the amygdala within your brain to calm the body down.
The action of stroking the side of your thumbnail is subtle and no one around you will know what you're doing and it doesn't matter what anyone around you thinks anyway.
Throughout the remainder of this practice you can continue to tap or squeeze on the side of your thumbnail and fingernails,
Focusing on one finger or moving between your fingers,
Cycling through all of them.
This will help to restore balance in your body and mind.
Thinking now about the place that you departed from or the place that you call home.
Imagining yourself standing in that place and feeling safe,
Supported and solid.
Remembering that feeling of knowing that you are safe.
If you don't feel safe now,
Just trust that you will feel safe again soon.
Visualising yourself in the place that you departed from,
Surrounded by an earthly light of any colour you choose.
This light surrounds you and reminds you that you are bonded to the earth and will soon be guided back to land.
You notice an animal spirit guide travelling with you.
This being has come to take this voyage with you.
You might see a pet,
Your favourite animal or a being that represents the earth like a fairy or some other spiritual guide.
Whatever you see is right for you.
With this earth guide by your side,
You feel reassured knowing that this companion will stay with you and ensure that you are safe as you travel.
Noticing now that this light surrounding you is sending out a long beam of light.
That stretches out and lands all the way at your destination.
As this beam of light connects with the place that you're headed,
It anchors you to that place on the earth.
Even though right now you may not feel grounded,
Find solace in the fact that your energy is now connected to the earth.
Slowly but surely,
This beam of light is navigating you towards your destination and reeling you from the Discourse in a Think of this journey as a leap from one point on the earth to another.
You can't take a leap without both feet leaving the ground.
With every moment that passes,
You get closer to landing,
Closer to having both feet on the ground.
Remember to keep squeezing or tapping the sides of your fingernails to help your body feel peaceful and safe.
Noticing your Animal Spirit Guide who has come with you in spirit along this journey.

See this glowing white light creating a protective layer around the plane,
Ship or vehicle.
Knowing that this white light is here to keep you safe,
Secure and well.
This vessel will be protected by this beautiful white light from now until you land safely.
