Hello and welcome to this meditation with the element of air with me,
Kasiah Gibbons.
Find yourself a comfortable space to do this meditation.
You can be seated or lying down.
What's most important is that you're comfortable.
Today we're going to connect with the element of air.
Start by noticing your body.
Noticing the shape of your body.
And taking a deep breath.
In and out.
Notice the sounds around you.
Know that they may be with us for this meditation.
And knowing that it's just life happening around you and allowing those sounds to drift on by.
And the same with any thoughts that may arise during this meditation.
Allow them to exist.
Recognize that they're part of being alive.
But that they don't have to be the focus of your attention just now.
So tuning in to the element of air.
All the elements are present in our bodies.
And we're very fortunate because we can feel the element of air.
And it is the interaction between our bodies and the element of air which keeps us alive.
So setting your intention to consciously connect with the element of air.
Focus on your breathing.
And to start with just notice your breathing.
Notice what air feels like.
As it enters your body.
Moves through your body.
And leaves your body.
Notice where in your body you're experiencing the element of air.
And then you might intentionally take a big deep breath.
Just as is comfortable for you.
Calling the element of air into your body.
Coming out to knowing that the element of air is present throughout your body.
And then noticing your skin where it comes into contact with the air.
And just noticing what that experience is like.
And the element of air governs the mind,
Thoughts and words.
So as you continue to breathe and continue to be aware of the air around you.
Just notice your thoughts.
Just allow them to happen.
Noticing what the element of air is bringing to your mind.
Bring your breathing,
The air in and out.
And then expanding your awareness to the air around you.
Noticing the qualities of the air.
Maybe there's a spaciousness.
Does the air feel thick or thin?
Is it warm or cool?
Is it clear or hazy?
Tuning into the element of air.
And then really appreciating how we each need air to survive.
And how we as a species and in fact as a planet rely on the element of air to keep us in balance.
And you might ask the element of air now to help to keep you in balance.
Particularly in mind,
In thought,
Word and communication.
Also in your breathing,
Your oxygen,
Your vital function.
You ask for the blessings of air now.
And then you might want to give thanks for air.
And you might even want to send your blessings out to the air,
Out through the air,
Out on the air.
Doing this now and then coming back to your breathing.
Really flow of air in and out.
So we'll end this meditation now.
So if you have been visualising,
You might release that visualisation.
And you might just bring your awareness back to your body,
Your breath and the air around you.
And when you're ready,
Releasing the meditation.
But if you like keeping with you this awareness,
New awareness or renewed awareness of the element of air in your life.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
