Welcome to this meditation Transcending the Body Three Stages to Emotional Freedom You may have already listened to my meditation How to Stop Thinking This is the equivalent of that meditation but applied to the level of the body In the How to Stop Thinking meditation I share a practice which is to expand the space between thoughts and experience a state of no mind What really happens when we do this practice is that we slow down time so that the same amount of thought is experienced in a much larger amount of time You can picture a sky full of grey clouds What we are doing by expanding the space between each thought is that we let one cloud form in the sky at any one time The equivalent on the level of the body is to slow down the functions of the body and you can start doing that by making the breath deeper and slower As you do this,
The heart rate falls the amount of thinking slows down If there was any tension before you started this practice it starts being spread through time so there is more capacity for the body to hold it which means it is not experiencing this tension anymore and there is a natural opening a falling into presence,
Into easiness The second stage to emotional freedom is to focus not so much on the experience of the body but on the spaciousness which arises once the body becomes less tense So as you breathe,
When you reach the end of the inhale pause,
Make the body as still as possible notice the spaciousness within which the breath appears Exhale,
And at the end of the exhale do the same pause,
And witness the spaciousness within which the body appears Notice now that the body is more of a sensation appearing within this spaciousness it is less tense,
Less physical movement appears within this presence but the presence itself is unaffected unchanged by the movement it is there before,
During and after it and if you try and find what this sensation is made of you would find only the presence the awareness within which it appears as such the so called body can completely dissolve within experience to reveal the true transparent nature of the body and the truth of non-duality the fact that we are this awareness,
This presence which remains always here unchanged by experience free from tension and any form of suffering The third stage to emotional freedom which I call the enlightened state is returning to this presence often until the certainty that this is who we are is constant so no matter in what shape or form the body is experienced whether it is transparent and free or more tense and less comfortable or very physical and painful we allow it to be as it is because it doesn't change our essence who we are is whole,
Complete ever-present always like the blue sky which can hold any amount of clouds without being affected or changed by them who you are is by nature open,
Free,
At peace allowing anything that is to just be Thank you for listening I wish you a wonderful day ahead
