Welcome to this 30 minute meditation on everything you look for is here now.
When you're ready you can close your eyes and just notice in this moment what is happening in your body.
How deep or how shallow is your breath?
No need to change it,
Just notice.
What is the temperature of the room in which you're in?
How busy or not busy your mind is?
And just observe these things without trying to change them,
Just noticing.
So often we get caught up in thinking about the past or the future.
So now we just take some time to remain here with what is actually happening in our current experience.
Notice that just like the breath,
The sounds begin and fade into silence.
Thoughts also come and go.
Some sensations appear and then disappear.
And notice that there is nothing to do to be aware of all of these things.
We are naturally aware.
Now being happy is often perceived to be on the level of the mind with positive happy thoughts.
And on the level of the body with feelings of happiness and joy and bliss.
And that is true,
Those are an expression of happiness.
But pure happiness itself is just resting here and now in the peace that is behind our thoughts,
That is constant behind our feelings.
A definition of happiness could be a place of no seeking,
A place where we are happy and fulfilled with what is here now.
And instead of waiting for the perfect circumstances,
We can just become present here now.
Seeking happiness in the future by wanting a new car or a new job or a new relationship is delaying our happiness.
Because when that happens we will allow ourselves to say,
Ah,
Okay,
Now I am happy.
But we don't have to wait,
We can say,
Now I am happy now.
In fact we cannot be happy anywhere else than the now because the now is all there is.
When we are fully present the past is a memory and the future is an imagination.
And both of these thoughts appear here now,
We can witness them just like we witness the body,
The sounds,
The breath.
There is no need to become engaged with them.
There is no need to be engaged with them.
There is no need to be engaged with them.
So ultimately what we look for is not an experience.
It is not a person,
An object or a job.
It is being here,
It is our own presence.
It is accepting things as they are.
It is accepting things as we are.
And the mind can try continuously to try to be engaged with them.
And the mind can try continuously to try to make us involved in the past and the future.
But we can just notice it,
See what it is doing and remain present.
And what happens slowly is that an interest about the present itself evolves in the mind.
It begins to ask questions like,
Is the present really ever present?
Is the present itself changed by thoughts or feelings?
Has anything ever happened outside of the present?
Can I be anywhere else than in the now?
And in this way it is itself focused on what is actually happening.
And then the silence becomes cherished for the peace that it brings.
The space between thoughts,
Between words becomes more noticeable.
Another question that could emerge is,
Is there an end to the depth of this peace?
And this is how the present overflows into the mind.
And when the mind rests in its source,
The body inevitably follows.
It becomes clear that the body is fine and perfectly healthy here and now.
That if there are tensions,
They belong to the past or the future,
But not the now.
They are not about the now.
In this way the whole body-mind system is immersed.
In peace and happiness.
Precisely.
Everything is allowed to simply pass through,
Flow through.
By not having a name to feel a particular way or think particular thoughts,
We are therefore not holding on to any thought or feeling.
And so they are accepted and embraced.
And so they are accepted and embraced.
As such happiness is simply the full acceptance of everything that is happening in the moment.
And we sometimes think that we can only accept things if they are a certain way,
But in meditation we experientially understand that happiness is the constant and we can accept everything exactly as it is.
In fact we naturally do so without effort,
Just by being.
But we can really accept that exactly as a true focus.
.
.
.
.
Therefore,
There is nothing for you to do to reach it or to achieve it in the world.
Knowing this,
All you have to do is to remember it and leave it.
No one can give you what you already have.
When you truly and fully live this,
All of your actions,
Thoughts and feelings are an expression of this pure happiness that you know yourself to be.
.
.
Now you can slowly begin to move your hands and feet,
Maybe focus on the breath,
Stretch or do whatever you need to do and then come back to the room.
Thank you so much for being here with me.
