Hi and welcome to this meditation on how not to let the behavior of others disturb your inner peace.
Take a deep breath in and close your eyes.
Notice right here what is inner peace.
Notice that your thoughts keep changing.
Notice that your feelings also come and go.
And now notice the state of presence or beingness.
Being aware.
Notice that all thoughts and feelings appear in this spaciousness of presence.
Notice that you are here now.
Even if it seems like a lot of thoughts or a lot of feelings can disturb the space of presence,
In fact they can't.
Every thought and every feeling appear in presence and dissolve in presence,
In awareness.
Now the real question is how to maintain this presence,
This stillness in our everyday lives.
Sometimes we find ourselves in situations in which we are triggered,
In which we react in ways we don't like.
And we often think that it is the people around us,
The people in this situation that are responsible for the way we feel.
In fact by not accepting their behaviors,
Reacting to them,
We are resisting something that is already within us.
Instead of blaming them for what they do,
We should be grateful that they have revealed something within us that we have not yet accepted fully.
Instead of judging them,
Controlling them,
Trying to change them,
We should instead focus on the feeling and the thoughts that have been triggered.
Simply be with them,
Embrace them exactly as they arise,
Knowing that we are not these thoughts and these feelings and allowing them to unfold.
When a pattern of resistance has been revealed,
Embraced and dissolved,
We become aware of new ways of being,
We become more forgiving towards others and we find ways to be loving and compassionate with all beings.
In truth,
Other people are simply a reflection of us.
They appear in our lives for a reason and that reason is always to enhance our spiritual growth,
To help us become better,
More loving,
Kinder human beings.
Most importantly,
We develop a kindness and a forgiveness towards ourselves,
Our own thoughts,
Feelings and behaviors.
And by embracing all of our self,
We can also accept and fully embrace everyone else.
Aloha!
Remaining present with and aware of your inner peace.
The space of presence within which everything arises and fades.
You can take three deeper breaths.
And whenever you're ready you can open your eyes.
Thank you for listening.
I wish you a beautiful day ahead and hope to see you again soon.
