Hello and welcome to your Meeting Life audio practice.
You can use this practice anytime to support connecting back to yourself and to the world around you.
So you will begin this practice seated,
Ideally on the ground.
You might want a mat or a blanket or something to support you if we move into some movement from seated.
So just taking a moment to set yourself up,
To land here in this space and to find your breath.
Taking a few deep cleansing breaths where you let out some sound on the exhale,
Letting out whatever sound wants to come,
Letting it go all the way out to completion.
Letting the breath be free and open,
Maybe bringing some movement to the face,
Sticking out the tongue,
Opening the jaw,
A few more breaths just using that breath and your sound to arrive right here,
Right now,
More full deep inhale,
Really seeing if you can expand and breathe in more air than you have all day and then letting it out,
Letting some sound,
Letting some movement,
Allowing the breath to just find a natural rhythm.
This practice today is going to be very intuitive,
So it's you meeting life,
You meeting whatever is here and that's going to be different day to day,
Moment to moment.
So starting to drop the awareness down into the body,
Beginning to contact those physical sensations,
The building blocks of life,
Your direct physical experience of life,
Noticing temperature,
Movement,
Pressure,
Blank spaces,
Qualities of energy,
Feeling what is alive in your body right now at the level of physical sensations,
Beginning to let the body pull you from place to place,
From sensation to sensation,
From area to area and starting to intuitively follow any impulses for movement or breath or sound,
Just starting to really trust where the body leads you and for you to deeply listen and follow whatever wants to open up in that place,
Using your breath,
Your awareness,
Your movement,
Your sound,
Continuing to follow,
To gather yourself in this way,
Letting the awareness be pulled to a place,
To a space,
To a sensation,
To an area and then feeling what impulses want to come from there,
Movement,
Touch,
Sound,
Words,
Breath,
Really letting it come from the body,
Not moving how you think you should,
Not doing what you think will open up the energy or bring yourself here more,
Really following the impulse and receiving the action,
Receiving that impulse,
Until the next thing pulls your attention,
The next impulse comes,
Continuing to follow these threads,
Gathering yourself,
Connecting back to what is really here right now and starting to bring some gentle movement to the whole body,
Maybe feeling the hips rocking,
The spine moving,
The face,
Just bringing some organic movement to your whole being that feels good and right for you,
It might be slow,
It might be subtle,
It might be big,
It might be loud,
Feeling your physicality,
This physical container,
This body of yours,
Moving in any way that feels good,
Letting out some sound and then starting to find some stillness as you once again tune in to the sensations,
To the qualities of energy,
To the movement inside of you,
Feeling what is here and starting to let this downward spiral bring more of you down into the earth,
Oftentimes we really spin up and out,
Just imagining this settling of the sand,
This downward spiral into your hips,
Your pelvis,
Your feet,
The earth,
Feeling the air on your exposed skin,
Just starting to feel what it's like to be inside your body,
Physical,
Tangible,
Real,
And also to feel life meeting you,
The air,
The support underneath,
And gently opening your eyes if they're not open already,
And seeing if you can stay connected to your inner world in relationship to life,
To the world around you,
Letting your eyes wander,
Maybe bringing hands to your body to stay connected within while being in relationship to what is around,
And breathing with life,
Feeling how on the inhale you're receiving this life,
Receiving through your senses what you see,
What you smell,
What you taste,
What you touch,
And on the exhale you're belonging,
You're contributing,
You're giving to this life,
So just staying right here and noticing what it's like to be connected within,
In relationship to what is around,
To life,
Feeling this give back and forth,
And following any impulses that feel right for you to deepen this intimacy with life,
Maybe you sing,
Maybe you move,
Maybe you stand and walk around and touch the world around you,
Maybe you lay down and just feel the receiving of the breath and the holding of the earth,
And once again,
Following those impulses,
How can I receive more of life in this moment,
How can I be right here,
In this body,
In this breath,
In this moment with life,
Taking a few more moments here to really just listen and follow and be with life in whatever way feels right,
And beginning to bring this practice to a close for now,
Feeling into what would make it feel complete,
Maybe you bow into life,
Maybe you lay down,
Maybe you curl up,
Maybe you go outside and put your bare feet on the earth,
But listening to what really wants to happen,
And following that impulse,
Giving yourself exactly what you need,
And this completes your audio practice.
