"Sensory Safari Meditation For Kids" is a 5-minute guided meditation that takes children on an imaginative journey through a wild safari, enhancing their mindfulness and sensory awareness. Through vivid descriptions, kids are guided to feel the sun, hear animals, smell rain-fresh soil, touch cool water, and taste sweet fruit, all without leaving their space. This engaging exploration not only fosters emotional regulation and focus but also encourages a deep connection to the natural world. Concluding with a gentle return to the present, the meditation leaves children with a sense of calm and a reminder that they can access this magical safari through their senses anytime.

Hello young explorers.

Today we're going on a special journey without even leaving our room.

We'll use our imagination to go on a sensory safari.

So let's get comfortable.

Find a spot where you can sit or lie down.

Close your eyes if you feel comfortable doing so.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Imagine that you're stepping into a beautiful,

Vast safari.

You can feel the warm sun on your skin,

And a gentle breeze dances around you.

Can you feel it?

That's the magic of the safari calling you to explore.

Now listen carefully.

The safari is alive with sounds.

Distant elephants are trumpeting,

Calling to each other.

Closer to us,

A group of birds are singing in harmony.

What other sounds can you hear in this vast safari?

Let's take a few steps forward on a soft,

Grassy path.

You notice the rich,

Earthy smell of the soil after a light rain.

It's fresh and inviting.

Take a deep breath in through your nose.

What scents do you notice around you?

As we continue our safari,

We spot a gentle stream.

We reach down to touch the water.

It's cool and refreshing against our skin.

Imagine dipping your fingers into the stream,

Feeling the water glide over them.

What does it feel like?

Now look around you.

The safari is full of colours and movements.

There's a beautiful,

Colourful bird flying across the blue sky.

And nearby,

A family of zebras grazes peacefully.

What colours do you see around you?

Imagine these colours becoming brighter and more vivid.

As we walk back on the path,

We find a ripe,

Juicy fruit fallen from a tree.

Imagine picking it up and taking a bite.

The sweet and tangy flavour bursts in your mouth.

It's delicious and refreshing.

What does it taste like to you?

Our sensory safari is coming to an end.

Take a deep breath in,

Gathering all the breath you can.

Take a deep breath in,

Gathering all the beautiful sensations,

Sounds,

Sights,

Smells and tastes.

As you breathe out,

Slowly start to bring your awareness back to the room.

Now gently wiggle your fingers and toes.

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Bringing the feelings of the safari adventure back with you.

Remember you can visit this magical safari any time you close your eyes and let your senses guide you.

Thank you for joining me on this sensory safari.

You did a great job exploring with your senses.

Remember,

The world around us is full of wonders to see.

Hear,

Smell,

Touch and taste.

What was your favourite part of the safari?
