Good morning,
Welcome.
I'd like to introduce you to a very simple,
Very special morning ritual you can do using something that's just a part of your life,
Which is your morning beverage,
If you have one.
Could be tea,
Could be coffee,
Juice,
Water,
Whatever you enjoy.
And what we're going to do is bring that into a practice in which we're able to set an intention that's very personal and relevant to us and that will thrive in our day.
We're literally going to drink in a quality that fills our cup.
I love this practice.
It was taught to me by my teacher,
Dr.
Lauren Roche.
I hope you enjoy it too.
We're just gonna take a few sips and this is something that everybody can do.
It doesn't take much time.
When we stop to pay attention,
Even for a few moments,
And to bring more consciousness to things that seem like ordinary things we do in our lives,
We're actually in a state of proper meditation,
Really,
Proper inner practice.
It's just taking that pause and being intentional and delighting in something that's life-enhancing for us.
So let's go ahead and begin.
Hopefully you have your drink.
If you don't,
Pause and come back.
I'm Alison and I'm so happy to be sharing this with you.
So the first thing we're going to do is feel the new day and turn towards it feeling good.
Let's take a lovely lungful of the fresh new air and let that pour out.
With the pouring out,
Letting go of anything extra to this moment,
Anything extraneous,
What happened before,
What happened yesterday.
Just in this moment,
Taking another breath,
Filling with that new breath,
And then letting go of old stagnant energy,
Things that are over.
Feel yourself land,
Feel the support underneath you and your spot.
Welcome yourself in there.
Bring this mug,
This drink,
Up to your nose and take a breath in.
Infusing with the smell,
Just take a moment to really smell your drink.
And as you're doing that,
Feel yourself filling up with that deliciousness.
It's entering your body,
It's becoming a part of you.
Just lingering there with your sense of smell,
Awakening that sense as the day awakens.
And then feel the weight of this cup and make that special.
It's a sacred thing.
I know my morning drink is sacred.
It's nice to feel that,
The heaviness,
Maybe how cool or warm it feels.
And now,
Just take a slow sip.
And as you sip,
Feel like you're sipping from the elixir of life.
That what is inside here is bringing goodness to your body.
You're loving up your inner energy.
Simply because this is a special moment in time where you're with your lovely drink.
It means something to you.
Throw away any ideas of labeling it a good drink or a bad drink.
It's a drink that you're enjoying.
Sip slowly and really take in that feeling of loving up your body on the inside with this elixir.
And as you do,
Awakening the taste buds on your tongue,
Letting it linger maybe in your mouth to feel that you're really tasting it.
And then how it moves down into your body,
Into your being and becomes a part of you.
Loving you up,
Warming you up on the inside.
And now think about the day ahead of you and what the day holds.
And ask yourself,
What quality would I like thriving in me for this day?
What quality would I like to lead me and guide me and be inside my spirit and my body and my breath in the moments of this day?
It could be something really supportive for you like calm,
Confidence,
Peace.
It could be joy,
Delight,
Enthusiasm.
Just take a moment and choose,
Tune into the quality that you would like to really vibrate inside of you,
Pulsate today as you meet whatever shows up.
A beautiful quality is openness and openheartedness,
For instance.
And when you have it,
Name it out loud.
Say the word and feel its vibration.
And now look down at what's in your cup and visualise,
Sense or imagine that that quality is infusing what's in the cup,
Like tea from a teabag infuses the water in the cup and becomes a special drink.
Imagine that all the sparkling elements of that quality are now inside your drink.
Take it up to your nose and smell.
Breathe it in,
Feeling all of that landing inside of you,
Meeting every part of you.
Now you can sip again in the same way.
In the same way,
Lingering.
Feeling that quality filling you,
Saying the word as you taste and swallow.
Continuing,
Maybe one more sip.
Take a moment,
Pause,
Even for the briefest moment knowing every cell in your body has soaked up that quality.
The quality is pulsating in every part of you,
Plumping up your cells,
Moving in your bloodstream,
In your breath,
Bringing health and vitality to your organs.
You've nourished yourself.
You've literally filled your cup.
And during today,
When you need a top up,
Take your water,
Make yourself another drink,
And just take one sip,
Remembering this quality and let yourself soak it up again.
Or even one breath with that quality to reset and to come back into that thriving space inside you.
Cheers and thank you for sharing this practice with me this morning.
I hope you have a fantastic day.
