
Morning Meditation: Nurturing Beginnings

A meditation to set you up for the day ahead. The first space of the day is just for you. Take this precious opportunity and enter a sacred space with yourself to nurture and protect what is valuable to you. This morning meditation uses the mantra “I feel my space and I nurture and protect what is sacred to me.”

The first space of the day is just for you,
It's all for you.
And for this time if it's possible take yourself to a physical space where you can be peaceful and undisturbed and which feels to you just like a lovely spot to be.
You may have a favourite spot outside where you take in the spaciousness of the sky or there's a tree you love or a garden that brings you good feelings.
Or if you're inside maybe choose a spot by a window with natural light available.
Just somewhere where you feel you can enjoy hanging out with yourself for a short while.
And make yourself really at home there,
So get comfortable and give yourself a chance to settle.
And whatever's coming into your mind as the day opens that's fine,
But you can tenderly remind yourself you're doing something wise here,
You're choosing to nurture this day and yourself and you're choosing to do that right from the start of the day in this special time first thing before you have to get involved with anything or anyone else.
You can trust that instinct no matter how much you may be feeling there are other calls on you they really can wait and this practice will add enormous value to you and your day ahead and to everything you have to show up for.
So this is really good.
Now as you settle in and breathe a nice easy natural flow of breath take one hand and lay it beside you so either on the ground or on the support that you're on which itself is in contact with the ground.
And as you do that and place your hand toward the ground feel a sense of earthing and say to yourself I feel my ground I feel stability I have foundation Breathe into that connection as your body remembers and keeping that hand there now take your other hand to your heart and as you breathe into your heart feel your heart expand and open into that contact with your hand a meeting between you and your heart and tune in there to that intimacy with your heart.
What is in your heart today?
And what more could there be your heart is vast and spacious and you can feel that as you breathe in and out and your heart fills.
Give yourself time and space here with your attention warmly on your heart and let your heart know that you're giving this precious place of feeling and expression time and space to be nurtured at the very start of the day.
Time just between you and your heart private sacred special.
And you can say to yourself I feel my heart.
And then feel the space around you all the space around you above you to the back of you to each side of you and beneath you the spacious curve of the earth.
And claim this space with your spacious presence here.
You might reach your arms out into all this space and feel it and gather it and explore it with your hands and arms.
You might stretch up into the wide space above you and as you feel your presence and all the space inside you and the potential for more space.
This space is for you.
You are inhabiting it with your precious being.
And your being is welcomed by space.
Now feeling all your space and feeling where your hand is grounding you your contact with the earth and feeling your spacious heart say to yourself.
I feel my space and I nurture and protect what is sacred to me.
You know what is sacred to you what you value.
How you want to live with what feelings and qualities in your daily life.
You know what is important to you.
I feel my space and I nurture and protect what is sacred to me.
What feelings what qualities of life do you want to make sure are thriving in your life today.
Thriving in your heart.
And permeating your being all through today.
Breathe with those feelings and say to yourself.
I feel my space today and I nurture and protect what is sacred to me.
And let your body feel this through in every part of it.
I feel my space and I nurture and protect what is sacred to me.
If any concerns are coming through let them give you information about what you need.
They are asking you for something.
Something you can offer yourself today as you nurture yourself through every moment.
And if there's any bodily tension let that come in and be soothed.
And reassured by your hand to the earth.
Your hand on your heart.
And the welcome of space.
Space is welcoming and protective.
I feel my space today and I nurture and protect what is sacred to me.
You are nurturing yourself.
And all parts of you will feel better for it.
And peaceful.
Knowing that you're on your own side.
Supporting yourself.
I feel my space today and I protect what's sacred.
Give yourself a little more time here.
And let this nurturing infuse.
Allowing your body to orientate in the direction of nurturing you today in wise and wonderful ways.
And to be an ally to you.
Bringing the same gentle and strengthening feeling you have now.
With your hand to the ground and your hand inward to your heart.
And the space around you.
Gifting you.
With another precious day on earth.
I feel my space today and I protect what's sacred to me.
