Hello and welcome.

The next few minutes offers you a space to meet yourself with warmth and with care and that's a gift for anyone wanting to reset their inner tone gently and consistently.

This is a time to hear a kinder voice,

To let the wisdom of compassion guide the way you speak to yourself and to return to the steady presence that's always within you that knows how to support you and keep you whole.

So begin to welcome yourself to this moment,

This simple time to be with yourself in a tone of kindness.

Allow yourself to sink into your seat,

Take a nice big breath in and a very relaxing breath out,

Take your time.

There's no problem to fix here,

There's nothing to prove,

There's no need to push.

This is just a chance to arrive in a very special place which is the warmth of your own presence.

As you take your next breath in,

Take in the sense of a new beginning and as you breathe out feel that you're settling into something soft like slipping into a familiar chair that just knows your shape.

Breathe into the new,

The beginning and breathe out sliding into the familiar,

Cozy,

Comfy.

And just for a moment with compassion,

With curiosity,

Notice the way you're speaking to yourself or have been.

Maybe your tone has been hurried,

Maybe it's been distracted,

Maybe it's been thinking of all the things done and undone and that inner critic is beginning to slide in.

Whatever you notice,

That's okay.

For these few minutes now,

Let's invite a more nourishing voice in,

A voice that sees you,

That steadies you,

That reminds you of your own goodness.

Exactly the voice you might offer to someone you care about very much.

You might softly say to yourself,

I am here.

And then feeling your breath take you down toward yourself,

Into yourself.

And I am in here.

This is a new moment.

Just repeating the words with sincerity,

Feeling yourself listening,

Feeling the words going in and landing.

I welcome myself into today.

Whatever today brings,

My pace is allowed.

My feelings matter.

And I speak to myself with respect and care.

You might take your hand to your heart,

Feel yourself breathing.

Softening your breath towards yourself,

Softening your body a little more.

And saying to yourself,

I trust myself to begin again.

I offer myself kindness,

No matter what unfolds.

My own voice can be my safe space.

My voice can lead on kindness.

Today,

My voice can be an anchor of steadiness and a place of peace.

And if your mind is wandering,

Still thinking about other things,

That's okay.

Kindness will meet it when it returns.

Everything in this space is allowed to be gentle and received.

And each word you speak with care is like a thread you're weaving.

Weaving a tone,

Weaving a texture,

A pathway,

A loving way to walk with yourself today.

Now,

As you feel your hand on your heart or somewhere else that feels right,

And you feel your breath in your body,

Remind yourself.

I choose today to be a kind companion to myself.

I let my inner voice nourish me,

Guide me.

And remind me of my worth.

One more time,

Setting the intention beautifully,

The place to come back to wherever you may wander.

I choose to be a kind companion to myself today.

And smiling into these words,

Confidently,

I let my inner voice nourish me,

Guide me,

And remind me of my worth.

Breathe that all in.

And as you exhale,

Just let anything else go.

Anything not kind.

And when you're ready,

You can come back and carry this tone with you,

A tone of steady warmth within your own kindest presence,

Always available,

Always there to come home to,

Always sending out a welcome to you.

Have a beautiful day.

This was a beautiful exercise! I do often talk critically to myself, especially if my thoughts go off in meditation. This was really beneficial to help me train my brain to know it's OK and be kind when I get back out of it. I often forget that I also need to speak kindly to myself, not just others. Thank you for this practice and your kindness to spur on my own
