This is a guided meditation to help you be flexible in the face of change.
I'm Asia Kennedy,
Creativity mentor and yoga teacher.
Sudden change is a big part of our world at this moment in time.
We make plans that suddenly have to change.
Or our business or the work we do may be going along fine and then suddenly change is needed.
Even though we may know in the wisest part of our being that change is the only constant,
When we are faced with change and often a sudden change,
It can challenge us to trust and be flexible and to remember that we are always safe within the movements of change.
One of the ways we can meet and feel this trust is to recognize our own capacity for flexibility and creativity within change.
When change happens,
We may feel panicky or fearful.
When this happens,
I invite you to use the simple mindful technique of breathing awareness with touch.
So let's practice this right now so that when you need support,
It's there for you.
I want you to start to simply feel your breath moving in your body.
Your eyes can be open or closed.
It's up to you.
Feel the movement of breath in your body.
Know your breath is safe.
Know your breath releases tensions.
Know that your breath connects you to your inner wisdom and creativity.
Let your focus on breathing begin to move you out of your head and downwards into your body.
Moving downwards into your body,
You may notice some tight areas.
Let each in-breath fill those tight spaces with lightness and let each exhale soften and release the tightness.
Take a moment to focus on this now.
Breathing in,
Filling up with lightness,
Breathing out,
Softening and releasing tight feelings and constriction.
You may notice a nourishing sense of safety within your breathing.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Imagine you are traveling with your breath into your own body through the pulsation of blood circulating,
Through the strength and sturdiness in your bones,
Through the flexibility of muscle and tissues that hold your body together.
Breathing into the center of your being,
Connecting with the part of you that knows you are always safe within change that's happening.
Connecting to that part of you that knows you are not alone but are surrounded by a loving energy that's supporting you through any change.
Your connection to your very own breathing opens the door to trust.
Trust in knowing that change is natural and that you are always loved.
Place your hands on a part of your body that will give you a feeling of safety right now and sense this loving energy within you and all around you.
Breathe in and breathe out with the sensation of touch reminding you of being safe and loved as you are.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Feel the flexibility in your own breathing,
The expansion and contraction,
The fullness and the emptiness.
Whenever you are faced with sudden change,
Place your hand back onto that place on your body that you chose for this meditation and focus on your breathing to bring you immediately back into knowing you are safe,
Loved and guided through change.
You are a flexible,
Creative being who flows easily with the changes that come.
Keep practicing this until it becomes easier and use this simple breathing and touch awareness when you are faced with sudden changes.
