My name is Asia Kennedy and welcome,
Welcome.
Today I will guide you through four practices to help develop consistency in your creating.
Consistency in creating doesn't come from a steely discipline,
But think of it more as a devotion.
So rather than think of discipline as a harsh taskmaster,
I want you to go into your heart and create discipline with devotion,
A devotional discipline.
The more we devote ourselves to what brings us joy,
The more we open up to feeling inspired and feeling that inspiration moving through us.
In today's meditation,
I'm going to offer you four ways,
Four things to practice to help you become more consistent in your creating.
Make yourself comfortable now,
Either sitting or lying down.
Close your eyes if you feel safe to do so.
And I want you to bring all of your attention to your physical body and noting how it feels right now.
Are there some tight places?
If there are,
Imagine your in-breath flowing into these tight areas and sense them begin to soften and unravel and release any of the stresses.
Feel the support beneath your body,
Whether you're sitting or lying down.
Sinking into that support,
Ask your body to let go a little bit more into that feeling of support.
Take a moment to let each of your exhales help you to drop,
Soften into the support beneath you.
And now bring your attention to your heart in the center of your chest.
We are connecting to our spiritual heart,
The sensation of boundless space,
The qualities of compassion,
Kindness,
Unconditioned love that is always there.
It's always there.
Recognize this place of the spiritual heart as you move out of your head,
Out of all the thinking and stories,
Moving down into your spacious heart.
You might wanna place your hands in the center of your chest.
Notice your breath moving the body gently.
The first way that will help us become more consistent in our creating is to devote more time to what brings you joy.
So I want you to take a moment now as you're relaxed to remember all the things in your life that bring you great joy.
Let this remembrance swirl through the body as you breathe in and out,
Allowing all the memories of what brings you joy to arise.
The second practice to help us develop creative consistency is to practice listening with our full attention and presence.
Think of listening in this way,
Listening deeply as an act of love.
Practice listening very deeply to your environment,
To others,
And to your inner guidance.
When you practice listening in this way,
I want you to notice how inspired you become.
Empty your mind of thinking and think of listening through the whole body,
Not just your ears.
When you listen in this way,
You are offering your love.
And when you listen deeply,
Ideas begin to flow and that creative energy within you is ignited.
So just think about those times when you were listened to and how spacious it felt,
How good it felt to be truly and deeply listened to.
So practice listening deeply to your environment,
The sounds,
To others,
And to your inner guidance.
The third thing to help us in our creative consistency is to align to our energy level.
In other words,
Own your own flow.
Go at your own pace,
Not what others are doing.
We are all different.
We all have different energy levels.
And I want you to really note and honor yours.
If you are a person who has a lot of energy all the time,
Own that,
Be that,
Use that.
If you are a person that has less energy,
Don't try to keep up with others who have a lot of energy.
This is the practice of really feeling into your energy level,
Staying with yourself,
And going at your own pace.
And the fourth thing that I'll offer to help you is to define for yourself what consistency actually means.
So I want you to imagine you have an eraser and whatever you were told about consistency,
You're erasing that away now so that it's a clean slate and that you can now explore for yourself and play with your definition of consistency.
What does that mean to you?
So this part of defining consistency,
It's your unique definition and your definition of what consistency in creating means will be of great benefit because you won't be comparing yourself to everything else that's going on around you.
So take the time to do these four tips as I've described,
And you'll begin to find your own creative flow and consistency that comes from your inner alignment,
Not from something that you were taught from outside.
Your creative consistency might look very,
Very different to someone else's,
And that's how it's meant to be.
So to review,
Devote more time to what brings you joy,
Two,
Practice listening with full attention to your environment,
To others,
To your inner guidance.
Remember,
Listening is an act of love,
Devotion.
Three,
Go at your own pace.
Own your flow.
Don't try to be doing what others are doing.
And four,
Play around with your definition of consistency.
And when you're ready,
You might want to write down a few thoughts that came from this relaxed meditation and guidance.
And you can come back to this whenever you need to,
To just again remember how to practice ways that will help you bring your unique consistency in creating so that you can bring those ideas,
Your creative projects into the world in the way that they're meant to be.
