Welcome,
My name is Asha Kennedy,
Creativity Catalyst and Divine Purpose Mentor.
This short revitalizing rest meditation can be listened to at your workplace during a break,
Or when you're at home to help you take a nourishing,
Powerful rest in the middle of the day.
So let's take a comfortable position and turn off your devices for the next 10 minutes.
Let's invite nourishing,
Healing qualities of rest into our lives on a more regular and consistent basis and experience the powerful effect it has on our well-being,
Focus,
Clarity and presence.
As you settle into your comfortable position now,
Set the intention to let anything that arises have a place so that we are not trying to push away thoughts or trying to push away any feelings.
And let ourselves be fully present with whatever comes and let go of our habits to push away or hang on to things.
And rather let us allow everything to flow through as we anchor ourselves into this beautiful practice of resting.
Let your breath now become the main focus of your attention.
Notice how it moves in your body,
What part of your body is moving.
Slow your breath down by breathing just that little bit fuller and breathing out just that little bit longer.
Don't be concerned in any way if thoughts are still swirling around trying to capture your attention.
This is the mind trying to keep your attention on being busy.
But keep returning to your breath over and over again and let it be the anchor that allows for deeper restfulness.
As you continue focusing on your breath,
You may notice times where there are thoughts of guilt for giving yourself this restful time.
You may notice how challenging it is at first.
You may notice thoughts of rest as being lazy or you may notice a fear that by resting,
You won't get all that you need to do today done.
On the next few exhales of our breath,
Let's release all of these ideas which are only thoughts and only have reality if we believe it to be true.
So let's breathe in together now full deep breath and we're going to release all those thoughts and one more deep deep breath in and exhale.
And as you continue with your conscious breathing,
Just know deep within you that your well-being is worth this 10 minutes a day to take powerful rest.
As you continue steady conscious breathing,
Notice there's a part of you who's aware of what's going on,
Aware of your thinking,
Aware of body sensations,
Aware of feelings or emotions,
Aware of sounds.
And I want you to practice staying with this awareness awareness as you sink deeper now into restfulness.
In this moment there is nothing to do,
Nowhere else to be.
Imagine right now you are in a most beautiful,
Supportive,
Light-filled,
Soft,
Loving,
Restful environment.
This environment is surrounding your whole body and you are expanding into the sense of light and ease as your breath continues to take you deeper and deeper into an expansive presence and a sense of a deep rest.
Notice your body now relaxing more.
Your hands and your feet,
Your legs and bum,
Your back and spine,
Your shoulders,
Your shoulders,
Arms,
Your neck,
Head,
Base,
And your belly.
Your belly free of any tensions.
Stay with the movement of your belly.
Feel it going out and in as you breathe.
And as you go deeper into a restfulness,
Imagine yourself on the top of a mountain observing any thoughts that arise.
Watch from this place how any feelings can come without you needing to analyze them or react in any way.
I invite you to feel like you are now in a neutral expansive restfulness.
Nothing is required of you.
Stay with this awareness to observe everything and being disturbed by nothing.
Stay here in this place of restfulness and feel every cell in your body now at rest.
Every bone in your body now at rest and all your internal organs now resting.
Take attention to the space between your ears and feel a silent spaciousness here.
Be here for a few moments.
Move your attention now downwards into your body and center on your heart.
Rest here in the boundless energy of the heart and sink into it for the last moments of this powerful rest.
Invite your heart to whisper what it wants to tell you right here in this moment.
Begin to move your hands giving them a little sensation and place them over your heart.
As you begin to slowly open your eyes,
Feel yourself refreshed,
Rejuvenated,
Inspired,
And rested.
Sending you many restful blessings.
Namaste.
