Welcome,

My friend.

Sometimes when anxiety,

Stress,

Physical symptoms,

Or difficult emotions rise,

It can feel like we've been swept into a powerful storm.

This practice is about learning that even when the storm is active,

There is a calm,

Steady center within you that remains untouched.

We will practice allowing and responding with courage rather than fear,

Helping you find rest in the eye of the storm.

So take a moment to settle into a comfortable position.

You can sit upright with support or lie down if that feels better for your body.

Allow your shoulders to soften,

Your belly to relax,

Your jaw to unclench.

And if it feels okay,

Gently close your eyes or lower your gaze.

We'll take a slow breath in and a long,

Easy breath out.

Let's do that again,

This time clenching your fists nice and tight on the inhale.

Really squeeze.

Then relax your hands on the exhale,

Letting them open and go completely limp.

Breathing gently,

Letting your body arrive right here,

Right now.

There is nothing you need to solve in this moment,

Nothing you need to fix.

Just let yourself be here.

We all know that life can feel turbulent at times,

And perhaps you feel like you're in the middle of a storm right now.

The storm might be anxiety or racing thoughts.

It might be physical discomfort,

Pain,

Fatigue,

Or other sensations.

It might be emotional overwhelm,

Pressure,

Uncertainty,

Or the weight of daily life.

You don't have to pretend the storm isn't there.

You don't have to force yourself to be calm.

Instead,

We begin with honesty.

You can quietly say to yourself,

This is a moment of challenge,

And I am still here.

Really let that land.

The storm may be loud,

But it is not all of you.

Often when the storm arrives,

Our first instinct is to resist it,

To tense,

Worry,

Analyze,

Or try to push the experience away.

But resistance can make the winds feel stronger.

So now we'll try something different.

Bring your attention to whatever feels most present for you right now.

Maybe it's a worry in your mind,

A tightness in your body,

A heavy feeling,

Or restless energy.

You don't need to analyze it.

Just notice.

And you can quietly say,

Ah,

This is what's here right now.

No judgment,

No drama,

Just simple acknowledgement.

Now gently offer yourself a new message.

This may be uncomfortable,

But I can allow it to be here.

Allowing doesn't mean liking.

It doesn't mean giving up.

It simply means you are not adding extra fear or struggle on top of what is already present.

So take another soft breath in,

And as you exhale,

Imagine loosening the grip around the discomfort.

Remember,

You are not trying to stop the storm.

You are allowing it to move while you remain steady.

Now,

If you'd like,

Visualize a great storm swirling around you.

Maybe there's wind,

Noise,

Movement,

Intensity,

Or debris flying around.

But at the center of the storm,

There is a quiet,

Still space.

The eye of the storm.

This center represents your higher awareness,

The part of you that can notice thoughts,

Feelings,

And sensations without being swept away.

Bring your attention to that steady center within you.

You might sense it as a grounded feeling in your chest,

Or a quiet steadiness in your breath,

Or simply the voice that says,

I am here,

Peaceful and unbroken.

The storm may still be active around you,

But this center remains calm no matter what.

Now notice what happens when a new thought,

Sensation,

Or feeling arises.

Instead of chasing it or pushing it away,

See if you can remain in the center.

You might gently say,

I can stay here even while this is happening.

You are not ignoring the storm.

You are simply choosing not to be pulled out of your center by every gust of wind.

Each time you return to this calm center,

You teach your mind and body,

I can handle this moment.

Now place one hand somewhere on your body if that feels supportive.

Maybe over your heart,

Or your belly,

Or your shoulders.

Feel the warmth and steadiness of your own touch,

And speak to yourself with kindness and strength.

You can say things like,

I know this feels hard,

And I am still here.

I can stay centered even while the storm passes.

Notice the confidence in those words.

Not harsh,

Not forceful,

But grounded and reassuring.

You are not demanding that the storm stop.

You are just reminding yourself that you do not have to give up your peace because of it.

You can remain centered and aware,

Even as the winds blow all around you.

Storms change.

They rise,

Shift,

And eventually soften.

Even if this storm has been around for a while,

In this moment you are practicing a new response.

Take a slow inhale,

And a gentle exhale.

And you can remind yourself,

This will move in its own time,

And I can remain steady while it does.

You don't need to solve the future right now.

You only need to stay here,

In this body,

In this breath.

Now return once more to that feeling of the calm center within you.

The storm may still be present.

Thoughts may still come and go.

Uncomfortable sensations may still rise and fall.

But here,

In the eye of the storm,

There is space.

There is quiet,

Steadiness,

Power.

So let's rest here for a few more slow breaths.

Inhaling,

Noticing that calm can coexist with a storm.

Exhaling,

Letting your body soften just a little more.

You are learning that peace does not require the storm to disappear.

It only requires your willingness to return to the center again and again.

So as we come to the end of this practice,

Gently remind yourself,

I don't need the storm to end to feel grounded.

I can handle moments of discomfort.

I can always return to the calm center within me.

Life will always include changing weather,

From blue skies to hurricane force winds,

But now you know where to go.

Back to your breath.

Back to your awareness.

Back to the steady center that remains,

Even as everything else moves.

So take one more slow breath in.

And a long,

Soft breath out.

Slowly bring your awareness back to your body and the room around you.

Gently wiggle your fingers or toes.

Maybe stretch or sway.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes.

The storm may still be present,

But so is your center.

And you can return to this eye of the storm whenever you need.

Thank you for practicing with me,

My friend,

And I'll see you next time.
