Hello,
My friend.
Welcome to this Inner Sunshine Meditation.
This is a wonderful practice to do to start your day,
But it's also great for any time you could use a little joy,
Warmth,
And lightness.
If you can find a sunny spot to sit,
That is perfect.
But if you can't find any sun right now,
That's okay.
We'll make our own sun.
So find yourself a nice,
Comfortable place to sit.
And we'll begin by closing our eyes and taking a few anchoring breaths.
As you settle into your body,
Noticing the contact points between your legs,
Your feet,
The seat or chair or floor underneath you,
Bringing a gentle smile to your face,
Noticing the breath as it comes in through the nose,
Into the chest and lungs,
Following the air as it comes back out,
Noticing where in your chest or belly you feel the breath most strongly,
Just allowing yourself to become fully present,
Anchoring your consciousness here in this moment,
Still with that gentle smile on your face.
Now,
If you are sitting somewhere sunny,
Bring your attention to the feeling of warmth and light on your face.
Or if you're not in the sun,
Let's use our imagination.
Imagining sitting outside under the beautiful warm sun or sitting by a sunny window,
Just feeling into that sensitive skin on your cheeks,
Your forehead,
Your eyelids,
Your mouth,
Feeling it warm and relaxed,
Feeling your cells becoming energized and alive.
Following that sensation of warmth and sun,
Your neck and shoulders and chest,
Allowing any tension or stiffness or coldness melt away,
Allowing the forehead to release,
The jaw to unhinge and relax,
Letting go of the shoulders,
Allowing your belly to soften,
Your hips to let go and relax,
Letting your feet and ankles be loose and supported by the ground under you.
As you are here in this warm light bath,
Feeling and moving that warm golden light through your face,
Through your whole head,
Even through your brain itself,
Moving that warm golden sun through your neck and shoulders,
Letting that sunlight fill your heart space,
Bringing your attention to your chest,
To your heart,
Experiencing the sunlight here,
Feeling as it grows brighter and warmer,
That feeling of joy and spaciousness in your heart.
You can imagine this beautiful sunlight energy entering your heart and moving into your circulation,
Into your blood,
Feeling this warm aliveness flowing through your whole body,
Saturating every muscle,
Every bone,
Every nerve,
Every organ,
Every cell,
Moving this sun energy down your torso,
Filling your hips,
Your legs,
Your feet.
Stay here for a moment,
Breathing and circulating that beautiful warm sunlight through your whole body.
Notice your whole body growing warmer and brighter and more relaxed.
Notice the buzz,
The aliveness on your skin.
Notice that natural smile that comes to your face as you soak up this beautiful sunlight.
Your whole body,
Light,
Warm and glowing.
I'm taking a moment of gratitude for your inner sun as well as the sun in the sky that gives us life.
You can bring your inner sun with you anywhere and everywhere you go.
So take this inner sun with you today.
Bring light and warmth to everyone you meet and every moment.
Start gently bringing your awareness back to your fingers and toes,
Back to the seat underneath you,
Noticing sounds around you and gently opening your eyes when you feel ready.
