As you allow your body to rest,
To get a little more cosy,
This time is for you,
A time to rest,
Body settling,
Bringing your awareness to your breath,
I invite you to take one big inhale through the nose,
Followed by another small inhale and then exhale through your mouth,
Deep breath in through the nose,
Another small inhale and exhale through the mouth,
And one small deep breath in,
One small breath,
Exhale and now breath continuing at its own pace,
Drifting your awareness to the top of the head,
Noticing any sensations or stillness,
The space between the eyebrows,
Eyes softening,
Breathing in and as you exhale,
Allow the shoulders to soften,
Of anything you don't need right now,
Beneath you and across to your right arm,
Feeling a gentle heaviness and warmth,
Allowing the arm to rest,
The left upper arm,
A gentle heaviness through the arm,
Nothing to hold,
Nothing to carry,
Chest rising by the surface beneath you,
Belly rising,
Breathing in,
Nothing to do,
The left leg,
Leg heavy,
Resting,
Whole body,
Imagine a colour now,
Or simply sensing one,
Gently through the feet and the legs,
Softening,
Perhaps feeling heavier,
Heavier,
Fingers travelling through the neck,
The back of the head,
Where we began,
There's nothing more you need to do,
Allowing the body to rest,
Breath moving in its own way,
Softening the body.
