Welcome.
Find a comfortable position.
Be sure you are warm and safe and won't be distracted for a few moments.
It may be a good idea to have a journal beside you,
If you like to journal.
Now closing the eyes and paying attention to the breath.
Noticing the inhale is cool and the exhale is warm.
Notice the sound that your breath makes in your body.
What does this sound like?
Notice the movement of your body as a reaction to the lungs expanding and then contracting again.
Notice your body being held by the chair or the floor,
Wherever you are.
And see if you can allow your body to relax even a tiny bit more.
Sensing inward into the body.
Bringing your awareness,
If it's accessible to you,
To your heartbeat or the sensation of your heartbeat.
Or you could just visualize your heart beating steadily and strongly within your chest.
Notice the relationship between the heartbeat and the breath.
Both giving and receiving.
Both taking in and letting go.
Working together in a beautiful lifelong partnership.
Take a moment to sense this relationship between your heart and your lungs.
And then you could repeat after me or just to yourself or just listen to the questions that I'm about to ask.
With love and reverence,
Ask your body,
What do you need today?
What can I do for you that I'm not doing?
What can I stop doing that no longer serves you?
Are there different ways that I could show my love for you?
Are there different experiences that you would like to feel?
Perhaps you would like to move more or less.
Perhaps you would like to eat more or less.
Perhaps you would like to dance more,
Smile more,
Laugh more.
What can I do for you today body?
What do you need?
Place a hand on your heart and ask these questions.
Beautiful heart,
What can I do for you today to bring you ease or comfort?
To show you my gratitude and love.
Is there something I can do more of?
Or something I can do less of that no longer serves you?
Is there some way that I can show my gratitude and love for you?
My deep respect and reverence for you.
How would you like to feel?
Would you like to feel more happiness and joy?
Less judgment or criticism.
More love and kindness.
More rest and repair.
Place your hands upon your ribs and repeat after me.
Lungs and breath,
Thank you for all that you do.
Thank you for continually showing your strength and resilience as I face each day.
I ask you today,
Is there something I can do?
Can I expand and take in and contract and let go?
Can I inhale the fresh air from nature and exhale and let go of anything that doesn't serve me?
What can I do to show you my deep respect and gratitude?
Can I bring my awareness to you and deepen your inhale and exhale?
Can I take you away from toxic places?
Or notice the times when I hold my breath or breathe shallowly when you want to expand.
What can I do for you today lungs?
How can I help you and show you my love?
If it is comfortable to do so,
Place a hand on your forehead and repeat after me.
Hello beautiful luscious juicy brain full of thoughts,
Beliefs,
Dreams.
How can I help you today to remain calm and steady,
Balanced and happy?
How can I show you my gratitude and love?
Can I become more aware of my thoughts today?
Can I bring my keen awareness and notice if judgment or criticism begins to spin within you,
That I can stop and breathe and move and change that pattern for you?
Can I bring my awareness to any automatic thoughts or beliefs that you carry,
So that I may question are they worth carrying any further?
Can I give you some quiet and peace away from places that cause stress or anxiety and allow you solitude and inner reflection?
What can I do for you today to show you my love and gratitude?
And finally,
If it is comfortable to do so,
Open your arms wide and wrap them around yourself to hug yourself.
Notice this lovely sensation of your arms wrapped around you.
And ask yourself again,
Body is there anything I can do for you today?
What do you need from me today?
How can I help you?
How can I do more?
And how can I show you my deep love and gratitude?
Be sure to pause and listen for the answers.
When we ask the question,
The answers will always come.
And if it feels right,
You could go ahead and journal what comes up for you or just self-reflect.
Consider befriending your body,
Your heart,
Your lungs,
Your mind,
Your whole body,
As these are the places through which you experience your life.
Take time to slowly awaken only when you are ready.
Wiggle fingers and toes or some other movement in the body.
Open the eyes.
Coming away with a deeper sense of understanding,
Perhaps,
Of what your body needs and how you can help.
I hope you will carry this deep sense of connection with you throughout your day and a deeper understanding of how magnificent you truly are.
Take good care,
My friends.
Thank you.
