Lesson 1
Introduction to Why We Meditate During Pregnancy
This first lesson is to welcome you to begin your conscious pregnancy meditation journey. Please consult your healthcare professional before practicing if you have any concerns and choose if this is right for you as none of this is intended as medical advice. With meditation, mantras, and visualization during pregnancy we honor the mystery of pregnancy and birth while also contributing powerful reminders that our minds, bodies, and spirits are designed beautifully and brilliantly to sustain life and give birth. There are basic physiological aspects of birth such as the rhythm of our heartbeat that indicates whether we are operating from fear (our sympathetic nervous system) with a rapid heart rate ... or a sense of security and peace, rest and digest, "tend and befriend" (our parasympathetic nervous system) with a lower heart rate and generally more blood distributed to our womb. Our heartbeat is felt and heard as a sound current in the womb by our babies and as we begin to chant mantras that additional sound vibration will be experienced sensorially through the amniotic fluid that your baby is floating in your womb. The meditation, visualization, and mantras create a resonance within you that is more powerful than any external factors.

Lesson 2
Liquid Gold Visualization
We use visualization and mantras to stay connected to our innate wisdom and with this lesson we introduce a simple visualization of warm, radiant light illuminating our hearts and our wombs. The lesson begins with the Adi Mantra -- Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo which we chant three times as we begin our meditation and visualization. Either of these can be used throughout pregnancy to create a sense of warmth and of inner peace.

Lesson 3
Relaxation Meditation With The Mantra "Sa" "Ta" "Na" "Ma"
This gentle active meditation with the mantra 'Sa Ta Na Ma' is practiced in a comfortable seated position with each fingertip tapping the thumb as you chant. The suggestion is that as we chant a mantra we create new neural pathways for our brain and with this mantra and mudra, the placement of our fingers and the way in which our tongue touches the roof of our mouth we send signals to our mind to balance the hemispheres of our neocortex creating inner peace for ourselves and inner peace for our growing babies in our wombs. Once we are able to be in a more neutral meditative state and in harmony, our heart rate will regulate to include this sense of love and feelings of security and inner peace; when we are at peace our heart rate is lower and our blood is distributed throughout our entire body, which is particularly important during pregnancy as much of our total blood volume will increase and get distributed directly into our womb. We light up with the sound current of "Sa" meaning birth, "Ta" meaning life, "Na" meaning death and "Ma" meaning reincarnation and renaissance.
