
Emotional Cleansing
In this practice you will learn how to clear your mental space from negative emotions. Tomek will guide you through a simple visualisation that will allow you to deal with the past situations that cause you mental stress and get rid of emotions that no longer serve you.

Hello and welcome.
I'm glad you decided to meditate with me today.
The aim of this meditation is emotional and mental cleansing.
I hope you enjoy it.
Human body is equipped with very sophisticated internal mechanisms of cleansing and purging.
Cells,
Tissues and organs undergo constant maintenance,
Removing toxins,
Waste products,
Recycling biomolecules,
Even disposing dead cells.
You don't need to think about it,
This happens in the background of your awareness,
Controlled by the innate body's intelligence.
On top of that internal cleansing,
We spend much time every day taking care of our external hygiene.
Brushing teeth,
Taking showers,
Applying various products to protect our skin.
Most of us take for granted those daily routines and never question why we actually need them.
One thing is certain,
Without them our life would quickly become very uncomfortable,
If not impossible.
What about your mental hygiene?
Have you ever thought of cleansing your emotional space that gets polluted by toxic thoughts and emotions over the course of the day?
Science shows that our emotional state is critical to maintain good health and well-being.
As a matter of fact,
Up to 80% of all illnesses can be tracked back to various forms of mental stress.
It goes without saying that today most of the stress is not physical but mental.
Don't you think that having a daily routine to clean up your mental space from toxins and impurities would help you to live a healthier,
Happier life?
Today I invite you to take the first step towards establishing a mental cleansing ritual.
To do that,
I'll guide you through a simple visualization.
Make yourself at ease.
Feel comfortable in your own body.
With you sitting down,
Make sure that your back is straight,
Not rigid,
Allowing unrestricted flow of your breath.
Sit in a dignified position,
Looking ahead.
Allow your feet to rest on the floor.
Feel how they give you support and ground you,
Your hands in your lap.
Allow your shoulders to drop away from your ears.
Relax your jaw.
Allow your eyes to close.
This is a good start.
Now,
Let us take a couple of deeper cleansing breaths,
Breathing in through your nose,
Deeply,
And exhaling through your mouth as if you tried to blow a balloon.
Don't be afraid to make some noise as you do it.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
Breathe normally and relax.
Now that you began the process of relaxation,
Tune in into your breath.
Recognize how as you breathe in,
The energy flows into your body.
And as you breathe out,
The energy flows out.
It may happen that your mind will wander during this process,
But you always have a choice to bring yourself back gently but firmly to your breath,
To the present moment.
Remember that your breath is your gateway to here and now,
And is your starting point of this exploration.
Even if your mind wanders away,
I'm always here to help you out,
To bring you back.
So relax now and tune in into the natural flow of your breath.
As you settle in into the relaxation,
Imagine a box,
A special container of your own device that allow you to contain any mental energy that you put inside of it.
We will call it the energy conversion box.
Open the heavy lid.
Do not look inside,
Simply observe it from a distance.
Now once again,
Start tuning into your breath.
Bring to your mind any situation,
Event or emotional state that gets in the way and comes to your mind very often.
Do not try very hard,
Usually those emotions linger right on the surface and that's why it's so easy for us to be triggered by them.
You may experience some sensation in your body,
Perhaps a tension,
A discomfort that is a result of this stale emotional energy that has been lingering in the background of your awareness.
Be aware of this emotion.
Do not try to push it away,
Simply accept it the way it is,
Even though it may feel unpleasant.
Now that you recognized it and accept it for what it is,
You may start using your breath to transport it to the energy conversion box.
Use your in-breath as a carry wave to help you deal with it and use your out-breath to push the emotional energy through the bottom of your feet all the way to the energy conversion box.
Feel how this energy slowly flows out of your body and is being captured inside of the box.
It may take more than one breath to let go of all the stale,
Used up energy captured in your body.
Breathing in the carry wave and breathe out,
Letting go,
Transferring all this used up stale energy through the bottom of your feet to the energy conversion box.
Do it now as I hold the space for you and wait until you finish.
Now that this is done,
Close the heavy lid of your energy conversion box.
Don't worry if not all the energy was transferred into it.
Some emotions are too strong,
Too intense to get rid of during one session.
Let's try again.
Once more,
Open the heavy lid of your energy conversion box.
Think to mind any situation,
Any emotion that you wish to let go of.
Feel it in your body.
Accept it for what it is without judging it.
And now use your breath to transfer all its energy into the energy conversion box.
Feel as the energy flows out of your body through the bottom of your feet and goes straight into the box.
It may take some time to accustom to this transfer,
So be patient.
It will happen whether you feel it or not.
Now,
Once again,
Close the heavy lid of your energy conversion box.
Make sure that you'll lock it up tightly,
So nothing can escape.
Once you're done,
Send the energy conversion box away from you.
Now very important part.
Those in the box served its purpose,
Show them your gratitude and gently bow to them.
Now you just freed up a lot of emotional space that is ready to be filled up.
Think to mind anything that you'd like to achieve today,
This week,
This year.
It may come from your personal or professional life.
It may be related to your health.
Perhaps you want to bring more abundance to your life.
Anything that will contribute to your growth and to your health.
With those new intentions in mind,
Start breathing in fresh new energy and vitality into your body.
Imagine a beam of white,
Sparkling energy coming into the center of your body every time you breathe in.
I give you a moment to work with it now as I stand by your side holding the space.
Now that this process is finished,
Zip up all the energy that you just gathered and rest in your breath.
Feel the aliveness in your body.
Feel the abundance of energy that you can use for your own purpose.
Now it's time to return.
Engage all your senses.
Begin by bringing all the sounds to your awareness.
Start being aware of your feet resting on the floor,
Your hands in your lap.
Feel the pressure of your sit bones on the chair.
Feel all the sensations on your skin.
Add some physical movement.
Wiggle your toes.
Move and stretch your fingers.
Tilt your head gently and slowly to the left.
Feel the muscles stretching in your neck.
Tilt your head to the right.
Back to the center.
And now all together,
Let us take one deep cleansing breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes and welcome back.

I hope you find this daily cleansing routine useful and you can use it whenever you feel that it's necessary to get rid of stale used up energy or every time you feel that you are overwhelmed with strong emotions.

Your mental hygiene is as important as taking care of your physical body.
