A warm welcome to you.
My name is Fleur Chambers and as always it's my pleasure to be here with you.
When life feels busy or we become caught inside our minds,
Our awareness often narrows.
We ruminate,
We judge,
We criticise.
We lose touch with our ability to see the bigger picture and to seek out opportunities for greater connection and satisfaction.
This meditation is a lovely opportunity for you to expand your awareness so that you can feel more spacious,
Connected,
Clear and inspired.
Enjoy.
As always,
Offering yourself all the time you need to get comfortable,
Inviting your eyes to gently close and resting your awareness on your breath.
The gentle rise and fall of your chest,
The soft expansion and contraction of your belly.
Enjoying this moment to come down from your busy thinking mind into the safety of your breath,
Your body and this moment.
Really giving yourself permission to be here,
To let go of whatever came before with each long smooth exhale.
Arriving a little deeper,
Feeling a gentle wave of relief wash over you.
This is your time.
Now connecting with your breath as a four-part cycle,
Becoming intimately aware of the inhale,
The pause at the top,
The exhale and the pause at the bottom.
Seeing if you can rest in each aspect of breath with curiosity and ease,
Smoothing out the edges.
Trust that with this sense of curiosity and attention,
You're signalling to your nervous system that it's safe to soften,
Safe to relax,
To arrive a little deeper.
Nothing to do,
No one to be.
You are safe in this moment.
Allowing this sense of spaciousness to land within your physical body now.
As you listen to my voice,
Feeling into the empty space within your ear,
The empty space behind your ear,
Noticing the space at the front of your neck,
Right down the bottom there,
Almost like a cave,
Becoming aware of the space between your tongue and the roof of your mouth,
The little space at your inner elbow.
Perhaps you can feel a space under your arms or at the back of your knees,
The tiny spaces between each of your fingers,
Between each of your toes.
Breathing in this sense of spaciousness,
Allowing it to relax your body even more,
Dropping deeper,
Creating an image in your mind's eye of a beautiful big lake.
Maybe it's a lake you've visited before,
Or creating this image purely within your imagination.
Noticing the surrounding landscape,
The trees,
Rocks and plants.
Noticing also the weather and the season.
And finally,
Noticing how the water on the lake is perfectly still.
Breathing deep into this sense of stillness,
Allowing it to soften your body even further.
Now imagining that one lone raindrop falls into the middle of the lake,
Casts a perfect ripple,
Mesmerized by the circular shape moving out in perfect timing and formation.
As you gaze at these ripples,
A wave of gratitude washes over you,
Gratitude for nature's ability to create perfect shapes,
For your ability to feel connected to and soothed by the natural world.
You feel grateful for your relationships,
For the big and small opportunities to love and be loved.
From this place of gratitude,
You feel gently inspired,
Motivated to move through your days with a greater sense of calm and ease.
You imagine yourself stepping over the everyday challenges,
Bouncing back from setbacks with a sense of flexibility and flow.
You feel drawn to listening more and judging less,
To seeing beyond the differences towards the inherent goodness of the people in your life.
Here in this moment,
By the lakeside,
You feel an urge to trust rather than control.
Breathing in a sense of trust in the wisdom of the natural world,
Of your relationships,
Your life stage.
Breathing in trust,
Breathing in trust,
Breathing out any resistance,
Any fear or desire to control,
Breathing out fear,
Breathing in trust,
Breathing out fear,
Trusting in this moment of recalibration.
And here in this moment,
As you sit by this lake,
Awareness expansive,
You ask yourself a series of questions.
You listen and you trust in what you hear.
You ask yourself,
When am I my most loving?
When most kind?
When am I most in flow?
When am I my most creative?
Gathering all this wisdom,
Breathing it in,
Breathing in and out of your nose.
This breath allows you to integrate all that you have discovered into your mind,
Body and heart.
And offering this lake a smile for helping you to expand your awareness so that you can see yourself and your life in more honest,
Loving and creative ways.
Coming back to your body,
Sitting or lying down in meditation,
Chest rising and falling,
Opening your eyes when you're ready.
May you take the wisdom from this practice with you today and may it help you feel more authentic and brave.
