Hi,
I'm Skyler Liberty Rose.
Welcome to the first meditation in the Midlife Transitions series.
This three-part series is designed to guide you through honoring your past,
Witnessing your present,
And setting intentions for your future.
For the most meaningful experience,
I invite you to spread these meditations over three days,
Allowing yourself time to absorb and integrate each practice before moving to the next.
This spaciousness creates room for deeper reflection and awareness and can truly create a positive impact.
Today we'll focus on honoring where you've been,
Acknowledging the journey that has brought you to this moment.
Tomorrow,
You can return for the second meditation on witnessing your present moment and then complete the series with the third meditation on setting intentions for your becoming.
Let's begin.
Please find a comfortable position that allows your body to feel supported.
Gently close your eyes if that feels right for you.
Take a moment to notice how your body is feeling right now.
Perhaps there's tension you've been carrying in your shoulders or your jaw.
Maybe there's a heaviness in your chest or perhaps you feel relatively at ease.
Whatever you're experiencing,
Allow it to be here without judgment.
Let's take a few deep breaths together.
Inhale slowly through your nose,
Feeling your breath fill your body.
And exhale completely through your mouth,
Releasing anything that no longer serves you.
One more time.
Inhale fully.
And exhale completely.
Now,
I invite you to bring your awareness to the journey that has brought you to this moment.
The path you've walked to arrive at this point in your life.
The experiences that have shaped you,
Molded you,
And guided you here.
Every choice you've made,
Every relationship,
Every career decision,
Every moment of joy and every challenge faced.
All of these have contributed to the person you are today.
Take a moment to acknowledge the younger versions of yourself who navigated those earlier chapters.
The woman in her 20s,
Perhaps finding her way in the world.
The woman in her 30s,
Possibly building a career,
Relationships,
Or a family.
All of these previous versions of you deserve to be witnessed and honored.
Inhale,
I acknowledge where I've been.
Inhale,
I honor my journey.
Let yourself remember a moment of particular significance from your past.
A threshold you cross.
A decision that altered your journey.
A realization that changed how you saw yourself or the world.
Feel the weight and wisdom of that moment.
What did you learn from that experience?
What strength did you discover?
What wisdom did you gain that you carry with you still?
Inhale,
I gather my wisdom.
Exhale,
I recognize my strength.
Your life has been a tapestry of moments.
Some vibrant and joyful,
Others muted and challenging.
Each thread has been necessary to create the whole picture of who you are.
The disappointments alongside the triumphs.
The losses alongside the gains.
All of these experiences have woven together to create the rich,
Complex person you are now.
Take a moment to place a hand over your heart if you'd like to.
Feel the steady rhythm beneath your palm.
The same heart that has carried you through every experience,
Every challenge,
Every celebration.
As you breathe into your heart space,
Offer yourself these words.
I honor the path I have walked.
I acknowledge every step of my journey.
I witness the wisdom I have gathered.
I am here now,
Carrying all that has come before.
Inhale fully,
I embrace my complete story.
Exhale completely,
I stand on the foundation of my experiences.
As we begin to close this practice,
Know that honoring where you've been isn't about dwelling in the past.
It's about acknowledging the fullness of your journey so that you can be fully present today and move intentionally into what comes next.
When you're ready,
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
Bringing awareness back to your physical body.
Take one more deep breath.
Slowly open your eyes,
Reconnecting with the space around you.
Thank you for taking this time to honor where you've been.
This reflection is a meaningful part of navigating the transitions of midlife with presence and intention.
I invite you to return tomorrow for the second meditation in this series,
Witnessing your present moment which will build upon today's practice.
Taking time between these meditations allows the wisdom of each one to settle into your awareness,
Creating a more profound experience.
Carry the acknowledgement of your journey with you as you move through the rest of your day.
Thank you so much for joining me.
I'll look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
I'm sending love from my heart to yours.
