There's one thing that each and every one of us longs for.
There's one thing that all of us want,
And that is to feel safe.
We all yearn for safety and security,
To just know that somehow everything is going to be okay.
But more often than not,
We look for our sense of safety in all the wrong places.
We look for safety in other people,
Expecting our partner or our friends or family to provide the safety and security that we seek.
We expect others to provide us with the safety that only we can provide for ourselves.
And we look for safety in things,
Like our homes or objects or money.
But nothing in the world can make you feel safer than you can.
Everything you need to feel rooted,
Secure,
Safe and grounded lies within you.
Everything you need lies within you.
You just need to learn how to connect to yourself so you can give yourself the security and safety that you long for.
You need to stop looking outside of yourself for the safety and security you seek and be willing to look the other way.
You won't find safety outside of you because everything outside of you is constantly changing.
The people in your life are constantly changing and your life circumstances are also constantly changing.
There will always be ups and downs,
Arguments,
Money issues,
But none of this has to make you feel unsafe and insecure.
If you learn to tap into the power of who you are and root deep inside of yourself,
The only constant you have is you.
So this meditation is for you to feel safe from deep within yourself whilst the world spins madly on and everything keeps changing.
This meditation is to show you that you don't need anything or anyone else to feel safe.
This meditation is for you to make you feel safe.
So get comfortable in your space and come on a journey in your imagination with me.
If your eyes aren't closed,
Then I invite you to close them now and I'm going to make a somewhat strange request.
I'm going to ask you to imagine that you are a mountain.
I want you to imagine that you are a huge,
Beautiful mountain covered in trees and streams and waterfalls.
I understand that this might be difficult for you.
I understand that you may struggle to visualize yourself as a mountain and that's okay.
I'm just asking you to give it a try and see what happens.
You don't have to have a vast and technicolor imagination in order for this meditation to work.
All you need is the willingness to try.
Just imagine yourself now,
Immersed in a mountain.
The mountain becomes you and you become the mountain.
Feel how solid you are,
How absolutely nothing can move you.
I want you to imagine roots coming out of the base of your spine,
Sinking deep into the earth.
Imagine your roots going deep,
Deep into the earth and entwining themselves tightly around the roots of Mother Earth,
The roots of the trees,
The plants and the flowers.
Feel how you become rooted and connected to Mother Earth.
You are a mountain.
You are safe and secure and you cannot be moved.
A powerful wind starts to blow.
A wind that gets stronger and stronger and stronger.
I want you to feel this gale force wind circulating around you as you sit solid as a mountain.
Notice that no matter how fast or how powerful this wind blows,
The core of who you are,
Your soul,
Stays rooted and unmovable.
The trees may sway and fall.
Branches might break.
But you,
You remain steadfast and solid.
Whilst everything outside of you gets blown away,
You are still and at complete peace with yourself.
The wind cannot harm you no matter how fast or how strong.
And now the rain begins to fall.
The rain pours down,
Getting heavier and heavier,
Causing landslides and floods.
But still,
You remain safe,
Steadfast and unmovable.
The rain may soak and drown everything outside of you,
But within you,
It has absolutely no effect whatsoever.
You have the power within you right now to just be here,
Sitting in the heart of the storm.
You already have the strength and the ability to sit in the heart of the chaos that life will bring you,
The ever-changing,
The constantly moving.
You can be there,
In the middle of all of it,
Strong as a mountain,
Secure and safe,
Connected to yourself and connected to Mother Earth.
Feel your power and notice,
Just like that,
The storm eventually subsides and everything outside of you is calm again.
The sun comes out and it shines down upon you.
All is calm and peaceful again and you remain there,
Solid,
Safe and secure,
Just like you were when you sat in the middle of the storm.
When life is chaotic or confusing,
When you're scared about the future or when you feel insecure or overwhelmed,
Remember this meditation.
Remember how powerful you are.
Remember to visualize yourself as a mountain,
Rooted deeply in the earth and know that you can withstand anything.
You can be amongst all the change and the chaos and still feel safe and secure within yourself.
Whatever is happening around you,
Remember that you don't have to get sucked up in the storm of it all.
Go back to being the mountain,
Strong,
Grounded and safe.
We've now come to the end of the meditation.
I hope you managed to tap into the power of who you really are and realized how safe you are,
As long as you stay deeply connected to you and to Mother Earth.
Now return to the present moment,
To your body and to the room you are in and when you are ready,
Open your eyes,
Feeling safe and secure,
Deeply within yourself.

This resonated so strongly with me that I played it twice through on first listen. I could feel the strength of the mountain. Highly recommended (especially, maybe, for Earth signs). Thank you Saskiaππβ¨

Felt like being held in a loving mother's arms. The visualisation of being a mountain is such a powerful metaphor for connecting with our innate strength no matter what the surrounding weather is doing. Thank you Saskia, I'll return to this often. ππ

This meditation left me with a distinctive feeling of peace and safety. The visualization was well-presented, and effortless to slip into. This practice unifies a sense of universal support, as well as self-empowerment. To me, that is quite a magical blend. π Highly recommended. Thank you, Saskia!
