Welcome.

This is a meditation for loneliness.

We all feel loneliness.

We all experience loneliness from time to time whether we're surrounded by people or not.

Because as most of us know you don't have to be alone to feel lonely.

Loneliness isn't really about being alone.

Loneliness is about feeling unseen and unheard.

Loneliness is when you feel disconnected and misunderstood.

It has nothing to do with people and everything to do with yourself.

That's what loneliness is.

It's a disconnection from yourself and that's why so many people suffer from loneliness.

Loneliness is an indication that you've forgotten yourself.

Forgotten the beauty of who you are.

It's a message from the universe telling you to love yourself more.

Loneliness is not a negative emotion.

It's a sign.

I know this because I spent my whole life lonely.

I spent every day unseen and unheard and so I stopped seeing and hearing myself too.

But I've learned to love myself fully now and now I have a completely different relationship with loneliness and I just want the same for you.

So in this meditation we're going to change your relationship to loneliness.

We're going to give loneliness a whole new meaning.

So to begin I'd like us to take three long deep breaths together.

Breathing in through the nose and sighing everything out of the mouth.

So let's begin.

Deep breath in gathering any negativity in your body and then sigh it all out of your system.

And again deep breath in through the nose gathering all the fear that hides inside of you and sigh all of that fear out of your body now.

And last one.

Deep breath in through the nose sucking out any darkness inside of you and sighing all of the darkness out.

So you only feel.

And now I'd like you to go to the feeling of loneliness.

Where do you feel loneliness in your body?

I'd like you to go there to go to that place and focus on that feeling.

I want you to realize this.

That feeling is the most beautiful part of yourself knocking on your heart reminding you it's there because you've forgotten who you are.

That feeling in your body when you're lonely is the youngest and most fragile part of yourself reminding you it's there.

The most beautiful and pure part of you wants to be seen by you.

It doesn't care who else sees it.

That young and fragile part of you just wants to be acknowledged and heard by you.

Instead of criticizing yourself.

Instead of always giving yourself a hard time or pushing yourself to be more.

Why don't you stop all of that and love yourself exactly the way you are.

That's what I want you to do right now.

I want you to do something brave and a little uncomfortable with me.

I'd like you to wrap your arms around yourself and remind yourself that you're there.

Physically now I want you to hold yourself with genuine care even if it feels uncomfortable to show yourself such a kindness.

I want you to hug yourself tightly and repeat the words I am about to say even if you don't believe them.

Just for now in this moment pretend that you do.

Let's begin.

I see you.

I hear you.

I know you're there and I'm sorry I've spent the majority of my life ignoring you but I'm here now and I want to make it up to you.

So from now on every time I experience loneliness I'm going to put my hands on my heart and I'm going to remember.

I'm going to remember to love myself fully no matter what because I'm doing the best I can with this crazy thing called life.

And now I'd like you to put your hands on your heart and take a moment to be with yourself to remind yourself that you're already beautiful and perfect.

Just place your hands on your heart and connect to the truth of who you are.

I know this was a very powerful meditation so I just wanted to commend you for going on that journey with me.

Going on that journey into the heart of loneliness with me.

I hope now and always you will remember that loneliness does not mean you're alone.

It means you've forgotten to love yourself and as soon as you wrap your arms around yourself or simply place your hands on your heart you will remember and that feeling of loneliness will dissolve,

Return back to the present moment into your body with a new meaning of loneliness and a newfound love for yourself.

Thank you very much Saskia for this powerful meditation. Made me quite emotional...Needed to hear this and be aware of it especially after my feelings got hurt by someone I did not expect this from. But it's not about him at all! Have forgotten how to be there for myself, love myself and accept myself just the way I am. Such a beautiful and valuable reminder! Thank you again, you are so appreciated Saskia. Blessings and love πŸ™πŸŒŸβ€οΈ

I always thought loneliness was about having people not around you. To see that it is a act of me not being kind, or not loving myself, that hit me hard because that’s a lot of time that I was unkind to myself. From this day forward I will work harder everyday to love and be gentle with myself. I deserve that and I have to forgive myself and move forward from now on. Saskia thank you for such heartfelt words and showing us where we need to be to fully love ourselves. πŸ€— πŸŒΈβœ¨πŸ™ŒπŸ»

The universe always has a way of showing me just what I need to see. I’m recently divorced and have been feeling very lonely. Just yesterday, I told a friend that the reason I feel so lonely is that I lost the only person who ever really made me feel seen and heard. I’d been focusing on my loss but what I forgot is the person who’s always here to make me feel seen and heard is right here, and I’ve been neglecting her. She is within me and she will never leave me. Thank you for this beautiful reminder to love myself πŸ’š
