Welcome to this evening meditation for when you need to unwind.
I'm Sara Zanacroce,
Coming to you from my home office in Switzerland and I'll be your guide tonight.
If you're feeling the weight of a busy day or the lingering pull of unfinished thoughts,
This meditation is hopefully here to help you release and find a sense of calm,
Reminding you that this moment is just for you.
So go ahead and find a comfortable position,
Whether you're seated or maybe you're lying down on your couch or even already in your bed.
Just allow your body to settle into what feels best for you today.
And now gently close your eyes if that feels safe.
And take a deep breath in and breathe in a sense of ease and calm.
And as you exhale,
Let go of any lingering thoughts or worries that have followed you into this evening.
And just let your breath find its natural rhythm now.
Each inhale bringing a wave of relaxation.
And each exhale releasing the tension of the day and sinking into the supporting surface a bit more with every breath.
And now bring your awareness to your body.
Fully feel the support beneath you,
The gentle surface that's holding you,
Allowing you to fully let go.
Imagine that the surface is like the earth cradling you,
Providing a safe space to unwind and breathe.
Notice if there are any areas of tightness,
Maybe in your shoulders,
Your back or your jaw.
These are often places where we're holding on to the day's stress or responsibilities.
So breathe deeply into those areas,
Sending them warmth and softness.
And releasing a little bit more of that tension with each exhale,
Letting it flow out of your body and into the earth,
Knowing you don't have to carry everything right now.
Consider your day as a series of waves that have come and gone.
Maybe some waves were strong and demanding,
While others were soft and calm.
Allow yourself to watch these waves from a distance,
Knowing they are behind you now and you are in this moment of stillness.
Exhale deeply,
Feeling the air fill your lungs with peace.
And as you exhale,
Let the waves fade away,
Leaving behind a still,
Open sea,
Calm and at rest.
Now imagine a warm,
Soft glow surrounding your body.
This glow is like the cozy light of a sunset,
Wrapping you in its embrace,
Signaling that it's time to unwind.
Feel its gentle warmth,
Easing any last bits of tension and helping your mind settle into quiet.
With every breath in,
Allow this glow to fill you with a sense of rest and comfort.
And with every breath out,
Let go of the thoughts still circling in your mind.
Know that in this moment,
It's safe to let go,
To be present with yourself and to release the weight of the day.
As you keep breathing,
Feel this sense of spaciousness within you,
A room to simply be without any expectations or demands.
Trust that everything you've done today is enough and that you deserve this time to recharge.
Inhale deeply,
Inviting in peace,
And exhale,
Feeling yourself becoming lighter,
Until all that remains is the quiet,
Peaceful stillness of the evening.
Take one final deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Gently open your eyes,
Bringing this sense of ease into the rest of your evening.
