Welcome to this meditation for calm and peace,
Even if you're dealing with health issues.
I'm Saras Nakroche and I'll be your guide today.
First of all,
I'm sorry you're not well.
I know how that feels and my heart really goes out to you.
Hopefully this meditation will give you a little break,
A refuge to distract you from your struggles.
So go ahead and find a comfortable position,
Whether that's seated or lying down,
Just depending on what feels most comfortable in your current situation.
And now gently close your eyes if that feels safe.
Let's start by bringing our awareness to the senses,
To really arrive in this present moment.
Start to become aware of sound,
All the noises around you in the distance.
Just observing now the coming and going of sound.
And now bring your awareness to your body,
Just feeling the temperature of the air on your skin,
The clothes that are touching your body,
The surface beneath you that's supporting you.
And now bring your awareness to gravity,
The external force all around you,
Connecting you to this world.
See if you can soften and surrender to this force,
Allowing yourself to become heavy,
Grounded and supported.
And now bring your awareness to your breath,
Breathing in through the nose and breathing out through your mouth.
Breathing in through the nose and breathing out through your mouth.
Just continue to breathe in this way for a few more breaths on your own.
And now let's step into your serene garden,
A sacred space of calmness and peace where you can reconnect with your inner self and find refuge from the stress and worry of dealing with health issues.
As you step into this tranquil garden,
Imagine yourself surrounded by gentle,
Nurturing energy,
An energy that cares for you,
Supports you and embraces you just as you are.
The flowers and trees here seem to lean in,
Offering you their strength and serenity.
Find a comfortable spot now to settle down in your garden,
Maybe near a soothing stream whose waters flow steadily,
Washing away worries and fears.
Take a deep breath now,
Allowing yourself to release the tension that may be building up in your body,
The worry that may be weighing on your mind.
In this moment,
Let go of the labels and diagnosis,
The medical terms and the uncertainty.
Here you are more than your health issues.
You are a whole person,
Deserving of love,
Care and peace.
Just as the plants in this garden know when to rest and when to grow,
Your body too has a wisdom of its own.
Even in times of illness or discomfort,
Your body is doing its best to heal,
To protect you and to keep you going.
Take a moment to acknowledge your body's efforts,
Even when it feels like it's struggling.
It's actually okay to feel frustrated,
Scared or overwhelmed.
These feelings are a natural part of your journey.
But also remember that within you lies a deep well of resilience,
A strength that has carried you through challenges before and will continue to do so.
As you sit in this peaceful garden,
Surrounded by the quiet strength of nature,
Let go of any self-blame.
Health issues are not a reflection of your worth or value.
You are enough,
Just as you are in this moment.
Allow yourself to be enveloped in a sense of peace and self-compassion,
Knowing that you are doing your best and that's all that's needed.
Your worth is not tied to your health status or your ability to function perfectly.
With each breath you take,
Feel yourself becoming more centered,
More balanced and more at peace.
Release the need to fight against what is happening and instead focus on what you can do to support yourself with kindness and care.
Embrace the simple truth that you are not alone.
Whether you are facing this challenge with the support of loved ones or drawing on your inner strength,
You have what you need to navigate this path.
In the stillness of your serene garden,
Let's take a moment now to set an intention for yourself.
Maybe it's to be gentle with yourself during this time,
To listen to your body's needs,
To slow down or simply to find moments of peace amidst the challenges.
Whatever your intention,
Let it be a gentle reminder that you are strong,
That you have the courage to face whatever comes your way and that peace is always within reach,
Even when your health issues feel overwhelming.
And now just feel your entire body in a deep state of relaxation and just enjoy this moment of deep rest and relaxation.
In your own personal inner sanctuary,
A place where you go to feel safe,
Secure,
Grounded and a deep sense of peace and inner love for yourself and all of life around you.
And now bring your awareness back to your breath and just allow your body to breathe for you with no effort whatsoever.
As we prepare to conclude this meditation,
Take one final deep breath,
Allowing this peace and tranquility of your garden to infuse every cell of your being.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes and return to the present moment,
Carrying with you this sense of calmness,
Clarity and self-assurance that will light your way wherever you go.
Namaste.
Welcome back.
