Hello and welcome.
My name is Nat and I'm excited to be here with you today.
I'm going to take you through a guided intention exercise.
This exercise is inspired by Dr.
Nicole LaPera,
A holistic psychologist.
For us to begin to see our pathway forward,
We must first get very clear on where we're going.
We do that by setting an intention.
It's helpful to understand what an intention is,
So let's begin there.
An intention is a purpose or goal that you,
Very specific to you,
You have chosen to experience.
It is awareness above everything else.
It is awareness of our state of consciousness and it allows us to become active participants in the way that we show up in our life.
The purpose or the goal that you are choosing to pursue is an embodiment of your future and best self,
An embodiment of your most authentic self.
We begin by exploring who that person is and what that desired life looks like.
We spend time imagining what it feels like to be that person.
The more detailed the vision and the intention,
The more powerful the results.
The wonderful thing about this exercise is that everyone's intention will be very specific to them.
You see,
Each and every one of us have our own unique essence and purpose in this world.
We are all meant to shine and we will shine differently.
You'll notice a core focus along the way.
The intention,
The focus is on you.
This is because we can only make changes to our own self,
Our own way of being and not anyone else's.
While many of us,
Myself included,
May want to change or improve a relationship with someone else or change an environment,
That work begins with us.
When we begin showing up differently,
So do the relationships and the world around us.
When we change ourselves,
We change our world.
This is a space for you.
This is a space for you to explore your highest self.
This may feel challenging at times,
Very normal.
If anything,
Default back to how you want to feel in your body as we move forward on this journey together.
With that,
Find yourself in a comfortable seated position or maybe you're lying down and bring your awareness inwards.
Begin by creating a safe space for yourself.
That might look like a few breaths in through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Then again,
Slow down,
Breathe in,
And then can you soften as you let that breath go.
On your next in-breath,
Will you scan the body?
Will you notice if you're holding on to any tension?
And then as you allow the exhale to leave your body,
Will you give yourself permission to soften?
The inhale scans and notices.
The exhale lets go.
Take a moment to envision the future that you currently want for yourself in as much detail as you can.
Imagine what it's like to live in this future life.
What are you doing?
Where are you?
How might you feel?
Is there anyone with you?
I'm going to take you through a series of prompts to help you bring this vision even brighter into the mind's eye.
Just focusing your intention on how your body feels as you begin to mentally and emotionally embody this future life.
We are simply imagining.
We are simply feeling.
Come back as many times as you need.
With this version of you,
This future self,
How do you feel in this moment?
Notice all of the sensations.
Maybe attribute a word,
But try not to go into the story.
Stay with the feeling.
And in this imagined future,
What are you doing?
In this future version of you,
What are you thinking?
In this future version of you,
Who are you spending time with?
Where and with whom are you living?
Explore this new living area or maybe an existing one that you want to spend more time in.
Explore it with all of your senses.
What colors do you see,
What sounds do you hear?
And in this future version of yourself,
What are you most proud of?
In this future version of yourself,
This self that you desire,
This self that you know is possible,
How do you support yourself?
Spiritually,
Emotionally,
Financially,
How are you supporting yourself?
This future version of you,
What self-care routines do you have?
What self-care routines?
How do you care for yourself?
Feel into the sensations.
How does it feel to care for yourself?
And then use your awareness to draw yourself away from this future intention,
This desired outcome for you and draw all of your awareness back into the room in which you sit or lay in.
Begin to feel the energy around you.
Feel the temperature of the room.
Hear into the sounds of the room and simply bring yourself back.
This version of you,
This version that you desire,
You can only see it.
You can only imagine it.
You can only feel it because it already exists within you.
You already have everything you need to live in this space,
In this version of you.
Together we will move forward.
Together we will continue to embody and live from this version of ourselves that we know already exists within us.
