Forgiveness can take different forms depending on the situation and individual. For some it can involve accepting what has happened, acknowledging emotions, and releasing attachments to the past. It does not mean condoning or forgetting the actions that caused harm, but rather freeing yourself from the burden of carrying that pain. One example of a forgiveness practice is the Hawaiian forgiveness prayer called Ho’oponopono, which translates to “to make right.” The prayer involves four simple phrases: “I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you.” Trigger warning: This track discusses themes of forgiveness and letting go, which may be sensitive for some listeners, particularly survivors of abuse. Please be aware that the content may evoke strong emotions or reactions related to past trauma. If you feel uncomfortable or triggered, it’s okay to take a step back or seek support.
