If you've not joined before,
I'm Ruth,
I'm a clinical EFT practitioner.
And I help people step through to Find their true authentic self by releasing the blocks which are holding them back.
And I've really been enjoying coming into this Insight Timer community and sharing these tapping sessions.
Anybody is new to EFT I know we have some regulars here which is wonderful so thank you for joining.
Anyone new today?
So EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques.
We gently tap on acupressure points while tuning into an emotional block and thinking about where we may feel that in the body.
And that can take a little bit of time to get used to because sometimes we're not even aware of what's going in and happening in our body whilst we're thinking about things because we're so far in our heads.
So we tap on these acupressure points in the body,
Tune into the emotional block and it helps to calm the nervous system,
Rewire limiting beliefs and bring us back into alignment.
So the tapping on the acupressure points,
It's making the body go into this parasympathetic state so that As we're starting to relax the nervous system whilst focusing on an emotion,
It's allowing it to be there and it's allowing it to come up and to dispel through the body.
So I will guide you through it as always.
You will tap.
And follow along with me.
I will use words and you can repeat my words if they resonate with you but if you find as you're tapping if different words come up that you really want to use then you absolutely say them,
Shout them out if you can.
The more specific you can be the better.
Hopefully you are all well.
In a place where you can speak freely.
And say anything that comes to mind and be happy tapping away on the different points.
Equally,
I've done lots of tapping when I've been out and about in public and you can say the words in your head or say them quietly to yourself and you can also tap in public.
It's okay,
Like people are starting to do this now out there in the world,
People won't think you're mad,
They'll probably be intrigued if anything.
But I've absolutely walked down the street tapping or sitting on a train going to work.
So let's get started I think.
So today we're tapping on fear of success,
Which can sound completely bonkers because why would we fear being successful?
So it's often overlooked,
Not even recognised.
We know about fear of failure,
That's a very common thing.
That stops a lot of people but so does fear of success,
So fear of what might happen if things go well.
So we often talk about the fear of failure,
But for many people,
Success can feel just as intimidating.
When we succeed,
We step into the unknown.
Success brings visibility,
Expectations,
And change.
It can also bring new pressures,
More responsibility,
Greater expectations,
And even shifts our relationships with those around us.
So sometimes we subconsciously hold ourselves back because success can feel overwhelming.
We might think.
What if I can't handle that?
What if people expect too much from me?
What if success changes how people think?
Think about me.
Feel about me.
What if I will get too big for my boots?
What if people won't like it when I'm successful?
What if being more successful means that you have to be more visible at work?
What does that mean?
Are you going to have to do more presentations,
More speeches?
Our subconscious mind craves safety and familiarity.
So even if we consciously want success,
A part of us may resist it,
And we might not even realise it.
So these fears often hide beneath procrastination.
I think many of us are probably familiar with that.
And it's really interesting to look at procrastination and just go,
Right,
What is it?
That I'm resisting here and it's usually because we fear something.
Or we don't know how to do it.
Um.
.
.
Also,
The fear can hide profound perfectionism,
Waiting until we have all the answers and everything's perfectly in place before moving forwards,
Or just keeping ourselves small.
So it doesn't have to be overwhelming.
We can chip away at the reasons we're struggling with it so that success can feel safer to her.
All right,
So.
If you're ready to begin.
.
.
Let's start by setting an intention for the session.
You can close your eyes,
Place your hands over your heart space.
Take a deep breath.
And gently exhale.
And just bring your awareness to your body.
Notice any areas of tension or discomfort.
When you tune in to be more visible.
Taking on a greater role of responsibility.
Stepping into your greatness,
How does it feel?
Just notice where it might be sitting in your body.
Maybe it's in your chest.
It could be your stomach,
Your throat,
Shoulders or jaw.
These are common areas where people carry a lot of tension and emotion,
But for you,
It could be anywhere.
It could be in your elbow.
There's no right or wrong answer.
It's whatever your body is calling out for you.
And if you're not sure,
Take a guess.
Because usually the guess is right.
On a scale of 0.
10.
Rate how intense does your fear or resistance to success feel right now?
And don't worry,
It might only feel like a 3 or 4,
Or it could feel much higher than that.
Also,
Just to note that when we're tapping.
.
.
You might even go up,
Your number might even shoot up to an 8 or 9 because we start drilling down on what it is and something may stick.
So you don't have to fix anything right now,
Just notice.
And we're just going to start with a round of tapping,
Without saying any words to begin with,
Just to get in the body,
Get familiar with it.
And settling.
So we'll start by tapping on the side of the hand.
And take a considered breath and release.
And we're just going to take a breath on each point.
There's nine different points,
But I'll talk you through them.
Eyebrow,
Just at the end of the eyebrows.
Take a breath.
Ah and release.
Side of eye.
Take a breath in.
And release.
We're always wanting to have a couple of fingers,
Use whichever ones work for you.
Couple of fingers tapping on the points under the eye.
This is on the bony part of the socket.
Is tap and breathe.
Under the nose.
Just relax and settle in.
From the chin,
On the collarbone.
Under the arm.
And the very top of the head.
I'm just coming back to tap on the side of her hand.
So often whilst tapping,
Specific memories or emotions arise.
That's okay and it's perfectly normal.
Your thoughts might drift off and you'll think,
Oh,
That's weird,
I'm thinking of this particular time.
Could be years ago,
Could be last week.
That's perfectly normal,
It's okay.
It's good to keep them in mind and we keep tapping.
And moving through.
As I said,
Repeat the words that I say or repeat out ones that resonate for you more.
If anything deeply emotional arises,
That's also okay.
It's just showing you that there's something there that needs working on.
Maybe today isn't the time for it because we don't have time and this isn't a personal session but you can always seek out a one-on-one with a practitioner or go to my profile and work on any of the audio tapping audios on there and you can work through them doing them repeatedly and you'll get a different experience each time.
To taking responsibility for your own well-being.
And just remember,
If anything comes up.
.
.
Which feels a little intense,
You just stop saying the words and just keep tapping along and you'll start to calm,
You'll be fine.
Okay,
So let's get tapping.
Tapping on the side of the hand.
Even though I fear success.
I deeply and completely accept myself.
Even though success feels overwhelming.
I choose to trust myself.
Even though I resist stepping to my next level.
Part of me would like to expand.
Okay,
Let's just acknowledge the fear.
Eyebrow.
Success feels overwhelming.
Side of the eye.
What if people expect too much from me?
Under the eye.
What if it changes my relationship?
Under the nose.
I feel unsure about stepping forward.
On the chin.
Maybe I'm safer where I am.
On the collar bone.
And you can use one hand,
Both hands,
The other hand,
It's fine.
Whatever feels more comfortable.
It's easier to stay in my comfort zone.
Under the arm.
Success feels uncertain.
Top of the head.
I feel this through my body.
Just note where you feel it.
And if you can imagine where you feel it,
What do you think it would look like?
Feel like and you can get quite descriptive,
Quite creative.
Might be like a fog.
Or something tight,
Restrictive perhaps in the throat.
Eyebrow.
Leveling up feels scary.
Side of the eye.
I don't know if I can handle it.
Under the eye?
What if I lose people along the way?
Under the nose.
I want success but I'm held back by fear.
On the chin.
It's safer to stay put.
On the collarbone.
It's safer to stay small.
Under the arm.
Don't stand out.
Top of the head.
Don't think you're better than anyone else.
Keep going.
Eyebrow.
What if I don't have to do it all at once?
Side of the eye.
Maybe success can be safe and manageable.
Under the eye.
Part of me is ready for this.
Under the nose.
But part of me is scared.
On the chin.
What if I don't have to fear the next level?
On the collarbone.
And I can trust myself to expand.
Under the arm.
I'd like to welcome new opportunities.
Top of the head and allow success to flow in.
So I just want to take a pause here.
You can place your hands on your heart space,
Take a deep breath.
Oh,
Have a sip of water if you have some and just check in with yourself and how do you feel?
If you want to share in the comments,
That's wonderful.
It's always lovely to hear.
Don't worry if you'd rather keep it to yourself,
That's also fine.
Well,
Has your rating gone up at all?
We call it a SUD,
A Subjective Unit of Distress,
So it may have been higher,
Lower.
Yeah,
It opens up some curiosity.
I wonder,
Curiosity to figure out what it is that's perhaps holding you back.
From success maybe.
And just notice how it feels in the body if that's changed.
Sometimes when we focus in on a particular area and go,
Whoa,
Okay,
I see you,
I feel you.
It can reduce from that area and it can move somewhere else or it can change shape or colour.
It's just good to note how we're feeling.
And make a little note of your number if it's gone up or down.
Okay,
Let's keep tapping.
Tapping on the side of the hand.
And this can also be any hand as well,
Don't worry which one,
Whatever is more comfortable for you.
So even though part of me fears success.
I am open to new possibilities.
Even though success may feel overwhelming.
I know I can trust myself.
Even though I had resistance.
I am ready to move up.
Eyebrow.
I'm ready for my next chapter.
Side of the eye.
I might be stronger than I realise.
Under the eye.
I want to thrive.
Under the nose.
I know I can handle success.
On the chin.
What if I can welcome abundance without losing myself?
And the collarbone.
I choose to grow without fear.
Under the arm.
I am safe to succeed.
Top of the head.
I am safe to move past this fear.
Keep going,
Eyebrow.
I can create success on my own terms.
Side of eye.
It doesn't have to be stressful.
Under the eye.
I can set healthy boundaries as I grow.
Under the nose.
I don't have to do everything on my own.
On the chin.
I release the pressure to be perfect.
On the collarbone.
Maybe I can show up just as I am.
Under the arm.
I can handle what comes next.
Top of the head.
I choose to feel lighter now.
Okay.
Going to keep going,
Final round.
Eyebrow.
I am capable and confident.
Side of I.
Success is part of my path.
Under the eye.
I'm proud of how far I've come.
Under the nose.
I allow myself to shine.
On the chin.
I'm open to new possibilities.
The collarbone.
I'm open to growth.
And for that to be safe for me.
Under the arm.
I'm free to be successful.
Top of the head.
And I choose to move forward with courage.
And my favourite one to end on,
We're just going to go to the collarbone again.
This is a really lovely grounding spot,
Anytime you need it.
And I really love to say,
I am enough just as I am.
Okay,
Stop tapping.
Ah,
Take a deep breath.
What's shifted in your body?
How does it feel now?
Have we shifted any stiffness,
Any movement?
How does it feel?
Let me know in the comments if you would like to.
If you were keeping track of your number,
What has it gone to now?
Also,
It's without judgment.
It might go down,
It might go up,
Because these sessions are small,
Little taster sessions,
And sometimes they can bring up things to work on.
A little less out of my worry brain,
Yeah.
Yeah,
We know the worry brain.
Yeah,
More joyful than hopeful,
That's lovely.
So if anybody enjoyed this session and would like to donate,
That was incredibly kind of you and helps me to keep going and keep doing these sessions for free on Insight Timer.
And helps me create more sessions like this.
There are some which are already in my profile.
If you go to this free audios in there that you can look at.
And then there's also a couple of courses.
So before you go,
Something to reflect on.
Is what hidden fears do I have about success?
And take a few moments to sit and think about that.
It's such a curious one,
Success,
And it can be,
Gosh,
Anything,
You know,
Be more visible.
Maybe it means that you can't hide when you're at work,
You have to show up,
You're accountable.
Maybe it means that when you're successful you're going to earn more money.
Maybe that doesn't sit very well with your friends or your family around you.
Maybe you don't have a good relationship with money and you think people who've got money aren't particularly nice,
Which isn't true.
But,
You know,
We have all of these different thoughts.
Which can be holding us back,
You know,
Maybe we don't want to be associated.
With that.
So just think about it and this awareness is gold.
Um.
.
.
Yeah,
Record a track on this.
Yeah,
I've got one already.
So if you are a member,
You can go to,
I've got three courses which are all part of Visibility.
And in the second course,
Which is breaking through self-sabotage and success blocks,
You'll find audio recordings in there and you can do them repeatedly and it will really help.
And just do them.
And notice each time how you feel because it will change and different things will come up and you'll start to find what it is,
What is that golden nugget that's holding you back and when you can get there then you can start to really work on it and break it down.
Yeah,
Check that out.
Breaking through self-sabotage and success blocks.
Um Yeah,
Take a look and see if that helps you.
So thank you so much for being here.
It's wonderful to share tapping with you.
I am trying to be here every week.
I'm actually back on Monday next week doing another session on anxiety because that's always a key one for a lot of people.
So I think every month I'm going to do one on anxiety and then the rest of the time I will be doing these sessions all around visibility.
And what holds us back.
So take a look at those courses.
And thank you very much to anybody who's donated already.
If you would like to donate,
Thank you so much.
I really,
Really do appreciate it.
And I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Thank you so much for tapping with me today.
If anybody would like to let me know in the comments how you're feeling.
That would be wonderful.
Um Thank you,
Thank you so much for the donations.
I hope to see you all again soon on another tapping and also if you would like to let me know in the comments if there's anything in particular that resonated with you here it's really great to have that feedback.
As I keep working and developing this and discovering more and more.
What it is about visibility and success and fear of failure and hidden blocks that really are making it sticky for people.
So that I can keep providing more audios and do more sessions like this to help.
Um,
As I'm sure probably many of you know that tension in your body,
Yeah,
Lovely.
But they always say the greatest work that we can do are things that we've struggled with ourselves.
And I know that I've struggled with many of these things in the past.
It's great to be able to do this work and bring it to everybody and share it with you now.
Yeah,
Thank you.
Well,
Hopefully you're feeling like something's shifted in the body.
You're definitely going to be having more energy moving through the body now.
It should have released some blocks and tension.
And it's also working on a subconscious level.
So you may not be fully aware of everything that's happening,
But it's always happening for the greater good of your body.
Oh,
Thank you so much,
Everybody.
I will catch you all very soon.
Thank you for the donations,
That's so kind.
