Bringing forth your best you.
Everyone around us is presenting themselves in a certain way,
And the rest of us see them and identify what treats they're showing,
Such as,
This is a cheerful person.
This person is optimistic,
Friendly,
Fun to be around.
Or,
This person is a downer,
Always finding fault,
Always complaining.
You then expect the person to be consistent that way,
And your mind will naturally look for evidence to support what you've decided about them.
Every relationship we have is built on impressions that we get from the actions and words of the other person,
As they are doing by observing us.
I'll tell you something else.
What we think of ourselves is also based on the same thing.
We judge our thoughts and our actions,
Comparing them to our values or what we imagine the impression we're making on others might be.
It's sometimes exhausting.
But an important thing to take from this is that we control the impression we make by deciding who we want to be,
And then acting like that person.
Everyone is taking on a role,
Because who we really are is pure potential.
We are not stuck being some version of ourselves that is unsuccessful,
Or meek,
Or negative.
We get to decide what our thoughts focus on and change them if we don't like it.
So let's do a little exercise now to help you align with the most successful version of you.
Close your eyes.
And let's start with some slow deep breaths together.
Inhale and release.
Inhale and exhale.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Picture in your mind,
It's the end of the day today.
You had a wonderful day.
You were appreciated,
Productive,
And easily successful in everything you did.
Imagine the happy,
Satisfied feeling coming over you as you feel full of accomplishment and appreciation.
Allow yourself to feel grateful for this day.
Sit with that grateful,
Satisfied feeling and let it grow from your heart into your entire being.
Such a great day.
You did so well.
How wonderful.
Great job.
Take some nice breaths here to anchor that feeling in.
Now I'd like to invite you to engage your mind in answering this question and imagining it as you do so.
How would you act if you were having an awesome day?
See yourself having an awesome day in your mind.
Are you walking with a little bounce in your step?
Are you smiling at people and greeting them in a friendly way?
How is this great day you're having being reflected in your actions,
Expressions,
And attitude?
Now allow yourself to imagine it even more vividly.
Not necessarily what exactly is making the day great,
But how you are acting now that you're having this awesome day.
Imagine how you feel and how those feelings are being reflected in the way you are presenting yourself to the world.
Great job.
This little exercise is here to show you that what you imagine,
You can create.
And what you present consistently will create the impression that others have of you.
It's sometimes known as acting as if.
Acting as if you already are this successful,
Positive person having a great day.
To act as if,
You have to bring forth those feelings of being that.
And then,
This version of you,
Which is really you,
You know.
It's as much you as any other version of you and just waiting for you to choose it.
This version of you will be the one that's seen and accepted as real by all who encounter you.
This version of you will do what happy and successful people do.
Walk with confidence,
Exude positivity,
Embrace the habits of successful people in their thinking and actions.
I'd like to invite you to do this exercise often,
Because the more you allow yourself to be this version that you created,
The more you accept it.
And others naturally do too.
Thank you for being here.
