I call this tool Happy Surprises and here's how it works.
At the beginning of the day,
You will tell your mind,
Your guides,
Your angels,
The universe,
Or just the power of your own consciousness and just choose based on what resonates for you,
Okay?
But you will just declare that you are ready for lots of happy surprises today and keep them coming.
Now,
Your assignment is to collect them.
When anything,
And I mean anything,
Big,
Small,
Whatever happens,
You first need to recognize it,
Then acknowledge it,
And then collect it so you can write it on your list.
And when I say collect it,
I mean this is one of the things that you are going to note that was a happy surprise in your day.
You don't have to physically pick anything up,
Okay?
It might just be your favorite song came on the radio.
Obviously,
There's nothing to collect,
But by collecting it,
I mean you're gonna write down my favorite song came on the radio and that was a happy surprise.
Now,
I suggest that you plan to recall all your happy surprises at the end of the day,
But you can keep a running list on your phone or in a notebook,
And that is also fine.
Some examples of happy surprises could be you received a nice text from your partner,
Or you saw a funny bumper sticker,
Or you received a compliment or a smile from a stranger.
Maybe you got an order or a booking that you weren't expecting,
Or just really it's anything that makes you feel surprised and delighted.
Your job is to take it personally.
Don't dismiss it.
Notice it.
Decide that this is one for the list.
Then note it.
Your assignment here with this tool is to amass a list of happy surprises each day.
So every time you notice one,
You're gonna feel happy and surprised.
That is gratitude.
And your mind will become attuned to watching out for those happy surprises so that you can complete your assignment,
Which is to notice them so you can add them to your list.
As your mind becomes attuned to this assignment,
And that means it's always paying attention on some level for things that make you happy,
You'll find that your mood will also become more positive and grateful because whatever we pay attention to grows stronger.
So this tool is one of the best ways to use this truth to your advantage.
Think of it like a computer program that's always running in the background.
As it's running in the background,
It's looking out for those moments of,
Oh,
That was fun,
Or ha-ha,
That was cool.
Anything that makes you feel like that.
Or wow,
That was amazing.
That's also a great one,
Right?
These happy surprises,
You weren't looking for it in a focused way,
Searching,
Seeking,
Searching.
No,
No,
It's not like that.
It comes to you.
It arises in your life,
And you get tickled by it.
You go,
Oh my gosh,
That was so great.
That was funny.
That's a happy surprise.
And so it's not just about noticing them,
Though that is step one,
And that is awesome.
It's about noting them,
Because when you actually take the time to write it down,
You're growing a list,
And this list is your data,
And this data is proving to you that your life is full of happy surprises.
So you read over the list any time you want,
And it will bring back those feelings of,
Wow,
That was great.
It will bring back gratitude.
It will enhance gratitude in your life.
A very simple tool.
Plus,

Who doesn't want their day to be filled with happy surprises?
Most people's days are,
But they just dismiss them and disregard them and forget about them,
But you're not gonna do that.
