Today we're going to talk a little more about labels and one label is mistake.

Now remember everything that happens is just something that happens but it gets created as a story in our minds and that story gets created with a label and that label is something that we judged about the story.

Mistake is one label that we tend to give to a story about something that happened that we judged that we did wrong.

That this was the wrong thing to do and it was a mistake.

But let's take that label and change it for a moment.

Let's change it to lesson.

This was a lesson.

It's something I learned.

It helped me know that that was not the way I want to do things.

I want to do things differently and so as I move forward and do things differently I have learned a lesson.

I am smarter,

Wiser,

More capable,

More loving,

More of who I want to be and therefore I'm not gonna be like mad at myself for having made that mistake.

I am going to instead think I learned something.

That was a great lesson.

So with changing the label from mistake which is a shameful kind of a label to lesson learned I'm also giving myself what's called grace which is like forgiveness and forgiveness is very very powerful and for a lot of people it's hard to come by.

So I want you to use this label changer today to give yourself grace about things that maybe you've been beating yourself up over for some amount of time.

So for this lesson take some time and think of things that you think are mistakes that you've made and I want you to intentionally relabel them and say to yourself that was a lesson.

A lesson learned and I am now better,

Stronger,

Smarter because I do this instead.

And see how that feels.

Really feel into that okay because I want you to get to a place where you shift from feeling mad at yourself,

Frustrated with yourself,

Ashamed,

Annoyed to feeling empowered,

Forgiven.

This is really really healing.

So I hope you'll take it seriously and remember throughout the day anytime you notice yourself having a grudge against yourself or something like that coming up you can apply the label,

The label changer from mistake to lesson learned.

Alright my wise friend,

Try this out.

I love this! 😄 I often repeat it’s okay to make mistakes to myself, but that one slight word change does make me feel like I’m lending myself more grace gently so I need to come back to this repeatedly! Short “lesson” ( 😉), yet very powerful burst of forgiveness offered here. 🤍
