Hey,
It's Ori,
And.
.
.
Today I would love to invite you to notice something crucial about your fear of abandonment.
When your relationship anxiety shows up and your mind starts asking questions.
Why haven't they texted?
What changed?
Should I say something?
Are we okay?
I'd love to offer you a different possibility for all of those times.
What if your body isn't asking any of those questions?
What if that's all in your mind and your body is simply asking you?
Can you stay with me?
Let's explore this together.
You can close your eyes,
Lower your gaze,
Or keep them open.
And let's take a breath together.
Breathing in.
And out.
I'd love to invite you to think of a recent moment when you felt disconnected from someone that you love.
Maybe they felt distracted.
Maybe they canceled plans.
Or they just seemed.
.
.
Ambiguously different.
What happens in your body as you think of this?
Don't tell yourself the story or try to explain it.
Stay in your body and just notice the sensations that come up Where do you feel the sensation?
Without trying to analyze,
Fix,
Or change those,
Because that would just be going back into the mind.
And wherever you feel the strongest sensation,
Put one hand there.
Don't fix it.
Don't change it.
Just let yourself say with your hand,
I'm here.
I'm not going anywhere.
I feel you.
I see you.
I'm here.
Take another breath here,
A slow breath.
Breathing in.
And out.
Notice how quickly your mind tries to get you to leave your body.
It wants to figure it all out,
Solve the problem,
Text them,
Prepare for the conversation,
Reassure yourself.
All these things that your mind does to get you out of your body.
Instead,
Feel your hand on your body and stay.
Just one more breath without thinking about it.
Without analyzing or labeling the feeling or the emotion.
Be with the sensation,
Whether it's heavy,
Tight.
Hot,
Cold.
It has some movement to it or it's completely still.
Be with the sensation and every time you notice your mind wanting to drift back into stories.
Or solutions,
Feel your hand again on your body and say,
I am here.
I am not leaving you.
You deserve.
To Have someone stay.
To have me stay.
One more breath in.
Out.
Gently letting the hand go.
Opening your eyes and inviting any other natural movement to transition out of this.
Most of us have spent years becoming experts at escaping our emotions,
Escaping our body.
But today you're practicing something different.
You're becoming familiar with them.
And the more familiar that your sensations become,
The less scary they are.
And as we come out of this,
Remember your body isn't asking you to have the perfect relationship.
Your body is asking you to not leave yourself the moment that something feels scary or uncertain.
Stop abandoning yourself.
While doing everything in your power to make sure that someone else doesn't abandon you.
If this practice resonated with you,
I believe you will love my video course here on Insight Timer called Anxious Attachment.
My reassurance never feels like enough.
Over three days,
We explore how to stop depending on reassurance,
Rest in uncertainty,
And build the kind of inner security that stays with you,
That has you stay with you.
Even when your relationship feels uncertain.
I'd love to guide you in there.
