Chakra means “wheel” and refers to energy points in your body. They are thought to be spinning disks of energy that should stay “open” and aligned, as they correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being.

The root chakra is the chakra of stability, security, and our basic needs. It is the first chakra in the body and is located at the base of the spine. We'll dive deeper into this chakra today.

The sacral chakra is the center of emotions and feelings and stimulates pleasure. It plays an active role in our sexuality and the expression of our sexual needs and desires. It's located two inches below the belly button.

Solar Plexus Chakra
The solar plexus provides a source of personal power and relates to self-esteem, warrior energy, and the power of transformation. It's located 2-3 inches above the belly button. We'll learn more about this chakra today.

Heart Chakra
The heart chakra governs one's senses of trust, fearlessness, peace, generosity, gratitude, and connectedness, as well as change and transformation, healthy boundaries, depth in relationships with others, emotional control, and love for oneself.

Throat Chakra
The throat chakra acts as the body's communication hub. It's where you find your voice, speak your truth, and sing praises—for yourself and others. This chakra is associated with speaking up and expressing yourself, but also with hearing and being heard.

Third Eye Chakra
The third eye refers to the gate that leads to the inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness. In spirituality, the third eye often symbolizes a state of enlightenment. It's located in the center of our forehead between our eyebrows.

Crown Chakra
Crown is the chakra is all about spiritual connection and transformation. It lifts and inspires you, connecting you to the divine (you might call this angelic energy, the Source, or God). This chakra also gives you a sense of your own divinity, the awareness that you are a soul in a human body. It is located outside the body above the head.
