In this series of reflections on the tarot, I use the Thoth Tarot to draw three cards representing the past, the present, and the possible future. The Thoth Tarot, developed by Alesteir Crowley, is a particularly powerful tool that is closely linked to the mystical Kabbalah. These readings are timeless. If you are drawn to this...you may find it applies to you in the here and now.

Greetings,

And welcome to Reflections on the Tarot For these readings I'll be using the Thoth Tarot as developed by Alistair Crowley The images used in this deck are particularly powerful and link closely to the teachings of the mystical Kabbalah For each of these readings I will draw three cards The first card representing the past The second,

The present time And the third card,

Representing the future,

As it may unfold These readings are timeless If you are drawn to this reading,

You may find it particularly pertinent to you If not,

Then take what applies to you and simply leave what does not These readings are for self-illumination only and do not constitute advice Let's begin In this reading from the Thoth Tarot,

We have the Three of Disks,

The Ten of Cups,

And the Two of Disks,

That show a story of growth,

Satisfaction,

And continuing adaptation Let's unpack each one in context For the Three of Disks,

Or works,

The keywords are collaboration,

Foundation,

Tangible progress,

And purposeful effort In the Thoth deck,

This card represents constructive work,

The successful laying of foundations through disciplined,

Skillful cooperation It often marks a time when your efforts were aligned with a clear plan or purpose You may have built something stable in the past,

Professionally,

Emotionally,

Or personally,

Through teamwork or strategic focus It's not the flash of inspiration,

But the result of the execution of an idea that mattered So your past was about putting in the work and learning how to collaborate effectively,

Building structures that now support you For the present,

We have the Ten of Cups,

Or satiety The keywords here are emotional fullness,

Contentment,

Culmination,

But also potential stagnation In the Thoth system,

This is emotion brought to completion It suggests that you've reached a point of deep emotional satisfaction or fulfillment,

Perhaps in relationships,

Home life,

Or spiritual well-being However,

This card also acts as a warning signal that too much of a good thing can be bad for you The message is that you're here in the present time enjoying a period of emotional wholeness or success,

But to be mindful not to let comfort turn into complacency True fulfillment invites gratitude and renewal For the third card,

Looking at the future,

We have the Two of Disks,

Representing change The keywords are adaptability,

Momentum,

Transformation,

And cycles This card represents the dynamic balance of change,

The ability to stay flexible while the material world shifts It's not chaos,

It's movement with purpose Where the Three of Disks built stability and the Ten of Cups reached emotional completion,

The Two of Disks reminds you that life is cyclical Something new wants to emerge You'll need to stay light on your feet and adapt to changing conditions The message in this card is that change is coming,

But you're equipped to handle it What you built in the past and what you've learned emotionally give you the grounding to flow with this next phase of your life If we turn this into a narrative,

It may sound like this In the past,

You stood at a point of purposeful creation,

Laying solid foundations through effort and cooperation The Three of Disks mark a time when your dedication and skill began to bear fruit,

Not through luck or chance,

But through steady,

Grounded work You found your rhythm in collaboration and structure,

Building something that could endure The energy of this card reminds us that meaningful progress is born from patience and alignment And that true craftsmanship,

Whether of a career,

Relationship,

Or personal path,

Requires both discipline and heart Now,

In this present moment,

Under the light of the Ten of Cups,

You are surrounded by emotional fulfillment and the gentle glow of completion There is a sense of peace here,

The feeling that your efforts have brought harmony and satisfaction to your world Yet beneath that serenity lies a quiet warning Too much comfort can dull the spark of growth This moment invites gratitude,

Yes,

But also awareness The willingness to stay awake,

Even in joy,

And to recognize that contentment,

Too,

Is part of a living cycle Ahead,

The Two of Disks turns the wheel once more Change stirs on the horizon,

Asking you to move with grace and flexibility The stability of the past and the richness of the present have given you the tools to navigate whatever comes next You are being called to dance with transformation,

To let go of rigidity and flow with the rhythm of life's unfolding What once felt settled will shift again,

But this is not loss,

It's renewal Through change,

Your work and your joy will find a new form,

Alive and evolving Let's now turn this three-card reading into a meditation that we can do Close your eyes and take a slow,

Steady breath in Feel the air filling your lungs,

Expanding the space within you Exhale softly and let your shoulders fall away from your ears With each breath,

Release the noise of the day You are entering a quiet space,

The inner workshop of your soul Now bring to mind the Three of Disks,

The energy of building and grounded creation See yourself standing before a structure you once worked hard to build Perhaps a dream,

A project,

A relationship,

A career Feel the weight of your hands,

The steadiness of your focus Acknowledge the discipline,

The learning,

The moments you stayed true to your craft Silently thank the version of yourself who built with patience and faith Let that vision soften and feel yourself surrounded by the gentle warmth of the Ten of Cups You are bathed in a calm,

Golden light,

The glow of emotional fulfillment Here,

At this time,

Your heart feels whole Breathe into that sense of peace,

Of love returned,

Of completion Let gratitude fill you completely Gratitude for what is,

And for all that has brought you here And as you rest in that sweetness,

Remember,

Contentment is not an ending,

But a pause before new creation Now feel a subtle motion beneath your feet,

A slow,

Rhythmic turning This is the Two of Disks,

The pulse of change The earth moves and you move with it Inhale adaptability,

Exhale resistance Feel yourself becoming lighter,

More fluid,

More attuned to the cycles of transformation Change is not your enemy,

It is your teacher Trust the rhythm of life,

Building,

Fulfilling,

Changing and building again Take one final deep breath On your inhale,

Gather all that you have learned,

Effort,

Joy and the courage to evolve On your exhale,

Release into trust You are the architect,

The dreamer and the dancer of change As the cycle continues,

You remain centered,

Open and alive Peace be with you
