This practice is for when you need some help,
Some comfort and some reassurance.
Find a comfortable position,
It really doesn't matter whether you're sitting down,
Lying down or standing up,
As long as you're comfortable as you settle into your space.
Allow the weight of gravity to pull you down towards the earth.
And just notice the breath as it moves in and out of your body.
Notice each in-breath and each out-breath.
You don't need to do anything at all,
The body knows how to breathe.
Just notice.
I know that for the most part things are going okay,
You're managing,
Sometimes you feel like you're thriving,
Enjoying beauty,
People,
Nature,
Enjoying being yourself.
I also know that at times things are more precarious,
Uncertainty and doubt creep in and you're not sure how to maintain a balance,
A healthy positive perspective on life.
I know that sometimes you feel like an outsider,
You look around knowing what you're going through,
Knowing what other people are going through,
Knowing about illness,
Stress and loss and you just wonder how everyone's keeping it together.
I know you try hard to take care of yourself,
To love yourself,
To nurture yourself.
You meditate,
Try to eat the right foods,
Stay active and connected with nature and loved ones.
This is exactly what you need to be doing but I know it's not always easy.
I also know that sometimes things happen in life that knock you sideways,
Things happen that make you gasp for air,
Things happen that test your faith,
Your conviction and your courage,
Things happen that drain your energy and deplete your spirit.
I know that at times you are confused and disoriented,
You're not sure which way to go,
Which decision to make,
What's right or wrong and you feel like you just need guidance and you just need support,
Some love,
You need a break,
You need a rest.
So as you close your eyes and feel your body sink down into the surface you're resting on,
Take a few moments to ask spirit,
God,
Your guides,
Whoever or whatever you feel connected to,
Ask them for what you most need in this moment.
Be honest,
There is no judgment,
You can speak it out loud or say it silently in your head.
The most important thing is that you are honest about what you need most right now,
Ask from your soul,
Ask with all your heart,
They're listening and they love you.
It's important to remember at times like this,
It's important to remember beauty,
It's important to remember moments of joy and it's important to maintain gratitude,
For life is precious.
So now focus on what you do have,
On the ways that you are positively connected to other people,
To nature,
To the universe,
To spirit.
Take a few moments now to acknowledge and give thanks for the good things and the connections that you do have even in this moment.
I want you to have the tools,
The faith,
The courage to keep taking one step forward at a time,
Safe in the knowledge that you are loved,
You are guided and you are protected.
My dear,
Dear friend,
This road is long and I want you to know that I want only the very best for you.
Sometimes you just need to let it out and ask for help,
So please do return to this practice next time you feel you need some comfort,
Some support,
Some help.
Bless you.
You
