Good morning and welcome to this new day.
A day like no other.
A day you have never experienced before.
Ideally open the curtains or blinds to allow natural light into your space.
And I'd like you to find a comfortable position.
A position in which you are awake and alert but comfortable.
And slowly close the eyes.
Just feel the weight of the body against the surface you're resting on.
And let's start by expressing our gratitude for being alive to see this new day.
Saying thanks for this new day.
This new opportunity.
And then slowly inviting in deep slow breaths into the belly.
And breathing out slowly through the mouth.
If it helps you can bring the lips together and imagine you're breathing out through a straw.
And that slows the out breath right down.
Taking long slow deep breaths into the belly.
Inviting in the air of a new day to energize and nourish you.
And breathing out slowly through the mouth.
Letting go of any stale air from last night's rest.
Do this a couple of times.
Taking the attention,
The awareness into these deep nourishing breaths.
Following the breath in and the breath out.
Now allowing the breath to settle into its natural rhythm gently.
No rush.
No effort.
Settling.
Arriving.
In this new day.
Imagining now.
Visualizing in your mind's eye the warmth of the sun.
The light of the sun.
Perhaps white or soft yellow.
Entering your body at the top of your head.
Moving down your head and face.
Warm.
Light.
Energizing.
Down your neck,
Shoulders and arms and into your fingers.
Relaxing.
Gentle.
Waking you up with a gentle energy boost.
The warmth and the light moving down your chest.
Into your belly and your lower back.
Soothing.
Gently warming.
Light.
Moving down your legs and into your feet.
Until your whole body is filled with a gentle,
Warm,
Energizing light.
The energy and warmth of the sun on a new day.
Remembering that when the mind wanders.
You can gently guide it back to the visualization of the body filled with light and warmth.
Or you can guide it back to the gentle sensations of the breath.
As you allow the following affirmations to set intentions for today.
Today is a great day.
Today is a beautiful day.
Today I am alive.
Today I am going to learn something new.
Today I am healthy.
Today I am calm.
Today I am kind and generous.
Today I take rest when I need to.
Today I approve of myself.
