This January, Liz is spending five minutes each day in nature, tuning into its quiet wisdom. Today, she notices the first tender shoots of spring bulbs breaking through the soil. It strikes her that the potential for these flowers has been quietly held within the bulbs all winter, waiting for the right moment to emerge. Nature has an innate sense of timing, and so do we. Just as these fresh shoots signal a new season, we too experience bursts of creativity and inspiration when the time is right - nature reminds us that everything unfolds in its own perfect time.

Hello and welcome to Five Minutes in Nature with me Liz Scott.

You join me on a very grey wintry day and I don't know if you can hear it but hail is falling and the hail now is coming from the sky and pattering down like loud raindrops on the ground and it's chill,

It's a damp damp chill here on this January day and I am standing right beside some green shoots that are coming up through the earth.

Now these are like green spears contrasting against the darkness of the soil.

Underneath the earth there is a bulb that is pushing up these shoots and I know that in a few weeks time,

Although it's very hard to believe on a day like today,

These green shoots will become flowers.

I don't know what they're going to be,

Possibly daffodils?

Not sure exactly but what I do know is this,

That at some level beneath the earth,

Beneath the soil,

The bulb has listened to and understood an unseen intelligence.

An intelligence,

An intuition,

A wisdom,

The wisdom of nature has allowed the bulb to realise that now is the time to push shoots up through the earth and as I see the shoots coming up I realise that these shoots embody patience and just natural timing.

Nature does things in her own time and nature does things at the right time and it's so good to remember this for ourselves.

Remember that there is a natural timing and rhythm to things and sometimes we are pushed and nudged into action and we take this action and in the same way that the bulb takes action and pushes up the shoots through the soil,

So a natural intelligence might be nudging us into action and nudging us to take steps and to create something in the world.

And underneath the soil all this winter those bulbs have been storing energy and growth and seemingly they have not been doing anything but actually they have been holding the potential and the vision for what is to come and much of the time that happens for us too.

We too hold the potential and vision for what is to come but we don't take action all the time,

We don't need to take action all the time.

It's so good to remember that we don't need to rush,

We just need to feel and we just need to know that in good time we can take the next step.

All that we need to do is to trust behind the scenes of our lives deep within our soul we are being nudged to take action but not all the time.

All we need to do is to wait,

Wait until we are shown what action to take and then we too can push up those green shoots into the world and we might not actually know what those shoots are going to bear fruit or what flowers are going to blossom from those shoots within us but what we do know is that if we trust the process and trust nature and trust that creativity has been brewing and forming and creating a blueprint of what is to come and trust that we too like the bulbs have been holding that potential within us.

So today nature's wisdom is just reminding us that like the shoots will push up through the ground in their own time so our creativity will take form in its own time and there's nothing to rush and there's no need to push it we just need to listen and to know when the time is right and as these bulbs have realized that the time is right now here in January to start pushing up those green shoots so we will know when the time is right in our life for those shoots of potential to come through for us too.

So let's thank nature for her wisdom today and listen in to your deeper intelligence and see what it is nudging you to do.

I love everything about this. It’s just what I need today. Connection to nature and trusting in divine timing. I especially like the notion that in quiet times of inactivity a blueprint is being developed. I will know when the time is right to act. Thank you! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’œπŸŒΈ
