I invite you to put aside some time,
Just a few minutes after the session as well,
To allow yourself to have some rest,
Some integration of the energy that comes through you,
Because there will be energy coming through,
So allow yourself time to integrate that.
And of course,
Stay hydrated,
Allow yourself to rest if you need to,
And look after yourself in general,
And that makes it much easier to work with the energy.
I invite you to be comfortable,
You can do this in any posture,
Whatever posture is supportive to your practice,
You might want to be seated.
And if at any point there's an instruction that you can't follow physically,
That's outside of your range of motion or comfort zone,
That's okay,
Just use your intention,
It's really important that we stay comfortable here.
So we start off by just clearing our energy systems a little bit.
If you bring your right hand to your left shoulder,
And what we're going to do is we're going to breathe in,
And as we breathe out,
We're going to sweep down the body to the right hip,
Intending to clear away any stuck energy,
And clear any energy pathways in your body.
Now bringing your left hand up to your right shoulder,
Breathing in,
And as you breathe out,
Again sweep your hand across the body,
Clearing out any stale energy,
Making space for energy to flow.
One more time,
Right hand to left shoulder,
And breathing out,
Sweeping the hand down across the body to the right hip,
And shaking off any excess energy there.
Now once again we're going to bring the right hand to the left shoulder,
And this time you're going to extend your left arm and just sweep your right hand on the out breath,
Down the left arm,
Clearing the energy pathways there.
Now bringing your left hand up to your right shoulder,
And on the next out breath,
Sweeping out down to your right fingertips,
Clearing away the energy pathways,
And one more time,
Right hand to left shoulder,
And sweeping all the way down your left arm,
To clear and prepare yourself with intention for Reiki practice.
And then I'll invite you to connect to Reiki,
If you're already practicing Reiki,
In whatever way works for you.
If you wish to,
You might want to bring your hands over your head,
Palms upwards,
And just intend now for the Reiki energy to come in from source,
So that will flow down through your hands,
Down your arms,
Through your shoulders,
And we're working with an energy center called the Tanden,
Which is in your lower abdomen,
Just about two finger widths below your belly button and a third of the way in.
Intend for that Reiki energy to come in,
And as you do so,
Breathing Reiki energy in,
Allow your arms to come down once you've got that connection.
And so we're going to work with anchoring Reiki energy to your breath.
So if it's within your range of motion,
Please bring your hands together in front of you in the prayer position,
Gassho in front of your chest.
And you're just going to imagine,
So you might visualize it,
You might feel it,
You might just know it's there.
Gentle healing energy flowing in from source,
Through your crown with each in breath,
Coming all the way down to your Tanden,
That energy center in your abdomen.
And with each out breath,
That energy flows out from your Tanden,
Throughout your body,
And carries on beyond your body into the space around you and eventually to infinity.
And we're just going to set up this flow,
So breathing in,
Reiki comes in through your crown,
Down to your Tanden,
Breathing out,
It flows out through your whole body,
Into the space around you and on into infinity,
And continuing that flow with the next few breaths,
As we anchor the Reiki energy to your breath.
And we're just going to set up this flow,
And then I'm going to invite you to just for a moment release any control of the flow of energy,
Release any intention to direct,
And let's just sit together in a moment of mindfulness.
So if you'd like something to focus on,
You can focus on that point where your two middle fingers are meeting each other,
And just sit in mindfulness now for a few breaths.
And then we're going to come back to intentionally directing the flow of the energy.
So once again,
As you breathe in,
Breathing that Reiki energy in from soles down through your crown,
To your Tanden,
That energy center in your lower abdomen.
And this time as you breathe out,
Directing the energy outwards to and through your hands,
Breathing the energy into your Tanden,
Breathing out through to your hands.
And we'll just do this quietly for a few breaths.
And then releasing the flow of energy,
And then releasing the flow,
So releasing any intention,
Any visualization,
Giving thanks to the Reiki energy and just letting that go.
You might want to brush your hands off just to take a step back from the practice.
