Hello and welcome.
I'm Kasiya Gibbons.
I'm a meditation teacher here on Insight Timer.
And today I'll be leading you in a practice to connect to the energies of the full moon.
So as ever,
Find a comfortable seat and posture to practice in.
And allow yourself to become present.
So there may be sounds going on around you,
Close by or far away.
And they may continue throughout the practice.
So just allow them to pass by without paying them too much attention.
And the same may be true for thoughts.
They may be present and may even continue throughout the practice.
But just allow them to be without being the main focus of your attention.
And become aware of your posture,
Aware of your body,
Aware of your breath.
That's right.
And if you can see the full moon from where you are,
You might want to gaze upon it.
And if the moon is not visible to you,
You can if you wish hold it in your inner vision.
Imagining the face of the moon.
Or even just finding a sense of the bright,
Shining energy of the moon.
How that might feel.
How that might sound.
And then return to your breathing.
Return to your body.
And imagine that you are opening at the crown.
And that you are receiving moonlight.
And bright moon energy in through your crown.
And feel it wash down your body,
Filling you up with bright moon energy.
Allow the moonlight to fill your whole body.
And as it reaches the lower parts of your body,
Allow it to flow back out again into the ground.
Always full of moonlight as the flow continues to enter you.
Filling you with bright moon energy.
Filling away anything that no longer serves you.
And then flowing down into the earth.
And just allow that to continue for a little while.
And when you are ready,
Turn your attention to the surface of the moon.
So if she is within your sight,
You might want to gaze upon her.
And otherwise,
You might just want to imagine what the moon looks like with your inner vision.
And the full moon in the sky is beautiful.
There she is,
Reflecting the sunlight,
Shining her beautiful,
Magical light onto us here on the planet.
And you may notice that she's beautiful even though she's not a perfect sphere.
She has craters and mountains.
Even the moon's face has shadow.
Yet somehow,
Despite or perhaps because of her pitted irregular surface,
The full moon in the sky is one of the most beautiful sights there is.
And so,
Even if you've been having a bad day,
Or are hurting in some way,
Or are simply not perfect,
What does the moon capture and reflect the sun's light,
Adding magic and beauty?
So you too can capture and reflect the moon's light in your own way.
Beautiful despite or perhaps because of all that has challenged and shaped you.
And so you might want to imagine yourself now as a reflector of this light,
So that as well as being open to the moon's bright energy which flows through you.
So as that energy reaches you,
You reflect it back,
Sending it out into the world around you and even as far as the moon herself.
You can visualise that or just know that you are reflecting and amplifying moon energy,
Or even anchor it to your breath.
Breathing the moon energy in,
Letting it flow through your body and then breathing it out,
Imagining it extending out all around you,
Shining on everything it touches.
And allow that to continue for a little while.
And to close the practice,
Notice any visualisation you have had,
Inviting the moon energy that you've filled yourself with to stay.
And then imagine mentally sealing yourself off,
So that your own refreshed energy is contained once again.
And once again come back to your breathing and your body,
Becoming aware of any sounds around you,
Any sensations or emotions.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes and come back to the room.
