Welcome to this simple meditation for connecting with a lost loved one.
This could mean someone who has passed over to the other side.
It could also be someone who is still living but that you don't talk to anymore for whatever reason.
It could be a human being or it could be an animal being that you have a special connection to.
Whether you think of this practice as spiritual or psychological doesn't really matter.
Either way you are connecting with the one you love in your heart.
Start by taking a moment to get comfortable.
Seated is nice for this meditation but feel free to take any shape that works best for you.
Take a few breaths as you settle in.
Move if you need to.
Wiggle around,
Stretch or just settle into that stillness.
Notice the seat beneath your body,
The earth that supports you,
The land that you are on and your relationship with this land.
Notice the temperature of the air,
The mood or the feeling in this particular space.
Notice the sound of my voice.
Now imagine a circle of protection surrounding you.
You could think of a circle of light,
Stones,
Chalk or anything else.
Clarify that only energies that are in alignment with your highest good may enter the circle.
Anything or anyone that is not in alignment with our highest good and the highest good of all may not enter into this space.
Now take a moment to consider your specific intentions.
There's someone that you want to talk to or connect with.
Consider why.
Do you have a question for them?
Something you want to share with them?
Maybe you simply miss them and want to feel their energy with you once again.
Just be with your intention for a moment,
Aligning your intentions with the highest good of yourself and of all beings.
When you feel ready,
Go ahead and invite that person into your circle.
Take some time to see them,
To feel them entering into the space with you.
Notice what they look like,
What they're wearing.
The expression on their face or in their body language.
Simply observe them for a moment.
Welcome them.
Tell your loved one why you've invited them here.
Tell them anything that you'd like to say.
If you feel like speaking out loud,
You can,
But silently in your mind is just fine.
And listen to how they respond.
Notice if they have any messages for you in particular.
These messages could come through in words,
Gestures or images.
Simply pay attention to them for a little while.
If you have a specific question for them,
Go ahead and ask.
And if you have something else that you'd like to say,
Go ahead and say that now.
Once you've said it,
Simply listen.
Now,
Feel free to spend a little bit more time with this loved one.
You may have more to express,
Or you may simply want to sit with them.
Give it some space and some time in your mind,
Keeping your focus on your loved one.
When you feel ready,
Thank your loved one for being here with you.
Let them know that you're going to return to your day to day world in a moment.
If there's anything else that needs to be seen,
Heard,
Felt or expressed on either side,
Go ahead and allow that.
When you're ready,
Offer thanks to the protective circle,
To the land.
Offer thanks to anyone or anything else that you'd like to send gratitude now.
When you're ready,
Begin to return to your body in space,
To the room that you're in.
Feel your feet wherever they are.
Notice the light in the room.
Take your time making your way out of this meditation and returning to your day.
