How do we find a space in our hearts to extend happiness and joy to someone even when it's not our own? Does it feel easy or is it challenging to extend these emotions? We often call this practice loving-kindness. Extending loving-kindness to someone we care for is a common practice. What this meditation does is ask you to notice how it feels when you do it. Is there resistance? How does it feel to imagine them happy? Let's focus there and see what happens for each of us as we practice.
