Welcome to this guided meditation for breathing.
You can be seated or lying down,
Preferably in a quiet space where you won't be interrupted.
Allow your body to relax and to sink into the surface beneath it.
Close your eyes.
Unclench your jaw.
Soften your forehead.
Let your shoulders relax and drop down.
Allow your stomach to be soft.
Place your hands on your stomach or on your heart.
Or just place them at your sides.
Take a nice and deep breath in through your nose.
And exhale all the way out through your mouth.
And now I would like for you to set an intention for your day.
Perhaps this is a way that you would like to feel or something that you would like to work on within yourself.
Once you have this intention,
Hold onto it.
And as you inhale,
Let this image or thought fill you up.
As you exhale,
Feel the peace that it brings.
Inhale and feel your intention really light you up.
And exhale and feel the peace.
And spend some time breathing this way.
And now I would like for you to set an intention for your day.
When we are more aware of our breathing and incorporate deep conscious breath into our lives on a regular basis,
There are numerous benefits that we begin to feel.
And the more we breathe in this conscious way,
The more often it does become a natural part of our lives.
Some of the benefits of breathing in this way are a decrease in stress and anxiety,
An increase in energy,
Alleviation of pain,
Lower blood pressure,
And many,
Many more benefits.
Now I'd like for you to inhale with your mouth closed,
Counting to four.
Hold for a moment and then exhale with your mouth closed to a count of eight.
Let's do this again.
Inhaling for four.
Hold for a moment and exhaling for eight.
Just continue with this pattern.
And if thoughts come up,
That is perfectly fine.
Excellent,
Machine.
Now just gently bring your attention back to your body and stay here for a little while,
Noticing how your body is feeling,
How relaxed it is.
Now gently stretch or rotate your ankles and then do the same with your hands.
Open your eyes.
May you be filled with joy,
Peace and gratitude today.
Namaste.
Namaste.
