Hello and welcome to this breathwork meditation focused on opening and exploring the heart.
My name is Jake and I will be guiding you through this session.
So I'd like to invite you now just to find a comfortable seated position with your spine tall and your hands resting on your knees.
Take a deep inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Take a deep inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Deep inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Releasing any tension or stress from the body and allowing everything just to settle down.
Start to bring your attention inward,
Start to focus the cold air coming in and the slightly warm air coming out.
The pattern of breath that we're going to be working with is called infinity breathing,
Also known as conscious connected breathing.
We'll be breathing in and out through the nose,
Focusing on slowing everything down,
Making the inhales nice and long and the exhales nice and long.
There's going to be no pause in between the inhale and the exhale and it's going to be one fluid breath.
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
So just keep going on that breath pattern,
Breathing in and out,
Nice and lightly,
Nice and softly.
There should be no strain here,
Everything should be nice and soft,
Nice and effortless.
And just allow your attention of your mind to focus in on the breath,
Letting all the thoughts and distractions arise and just sitting in the back of your mind,
Using the attention on the breath and the sensation of the air moving in and out of the body.
And as you continue to breathe,
Bring awareness to your heart centre.
Feel your heart located in your body,
Take one hand and place it on your heart,
Feel the beat of your heart in your chest and allow that vibration to echo through your ears.
Visualise a glowing warm light radiating from your heart,
Filling your body with love and compassion.
And as you exhale,
Imagine any stress,
Tension or negativity leaving your body and mind,
Making space for love and peace.
And start to visualise a picture of your heart,
Make it clear in your mind's eye,
The colour,
The size,
The texture and start to notice all the little intricacies and details of your heart.
And once you begin to paint that picture of your heart,
Make sure it's nice and clear in the mind's eye and I want you to begin to start to look inside your heart,
What or who lives inside the heart.
Start to visualise the people,
The places and the experiences that live inside your heart.
One by one you begin to relive each memory,
Each experience,
Each person that lives inside your heart.
And as you begin to relive each memory,
Each experience,
Each person,
You begin to feel a subtle warmth radiating from your heart outwards into your body and this contentment and this warmth ripples throughout the whole of your body and being,
Reaching every corner,
Every cell until your whole body is gently radiating this subtle warmth.
Staying with that infinity breath as we breathe in and out,
In and out and out.
With each inhale,
Bringing in peace and love and with each exhale,
Letting go of any stress,
Any tension,
Feeling the doors to our heart just crack open a little bit more as we begin to allow love,
Not only for ourselves but for all of humanity,
That gentle warmth just radiating through every cell,
Every organ,
Every bone.
Taking a deep breath in and exhale,
Deep breath in and exhale,
Deep breath in and exhale.
Start to bring a little bit of awareness back into your body,
Allow that warmth to radiate and to stay and thank you for joining me in this heart opening session.
