Hello my name is Jake and welcome to this breathwork session today.
Today we'll be exploring the power of our breath and how we can use it throughout the day just to melt away any stress.
So this is going to be a really quick,
Easy and simple practice that you can do at any time,
In any place.
If you're just feeling a little bit anxious,
A little bit stressed out,
A little bit down maybe just need a little pick me up,
Join me here.
So let's begin by finding a comfortable seated position.
Sit up tall,
Relax the shoulders and close down the eyes.
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
Hold and slowly release.
We're going to do that two more times.
Taking a deep breath in,
Hold and sigh.
Last time in,
Deepest breath,
Hold.
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
Sigh.
As you sigh just feel all the tension leave your body.
And now we're just going to take some gentle,
Soft breaths.
Breathing in and out,
Breathing in and out,
Breathing in and out.
Keep breathing in this continuous loop.
Inhale after exhale with no pause.
Just feel the cold air rise and the slightly warm air fall.
Each inhale is an expansion,
Each exhale is a softening.
Taking some soft,
Gentle breaths.
And after each exhale just allow the breath to become slower and slower.
More relaxed,
More effortless and silent.
And as you continue to breathe,
Begin to notice any sensations in your body.
Are there any areas of tension or discomfort?
If so,
Try and bring a little bit of breath into those areas and allow them to release and relax.
And as you're breathing,
I want you to begin that you're breathing more than just oxygen,
You're actually breathing in life itself.
And whenever the mind wanders,
Know that that's perfectly okay.
Just bring yourself back to that feeling of the inhale followed by the exhale.
Each round the breath is becoming slower and slower,
More relaxed,
Effortless.
And as you continue to breathe,
Imagine a bright light at the centre of your being.
Radiating outwards with each breath.
Feel this light filling you up,
Reaching every corner of your being.
Bringing you peace,
Calm and tranquility.
We're inhaling peace and we're exhaling stress.
We're inhaling peace,
We're exhaling stress.
We're inhaling peace and we're just exhaling any stress.
Each inhale activating the body's energy system and each exhale we're just releasing anything we don't need.
Taking a few more breaths here.
Breathing in peace,
Exhaling stress.
Breathing in peace,
Exhaling stress.
Breathing in peace and just exhaling any last remaining stress.
Now,
Coming up for your last exhale.
So breathe all the way out and hold here at the bottom.
Hold here for 10,
9,
8,
7,
6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
Fully in.
Hold,
Soften up the belly,
Creating upward pressure towards the head.
Driving up all the energy towards your brain centre as we hold here for 10,
9,
8,
7,
6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
Release and let go.
And just allow the breath just to settle.
Allow the breath just to relax and return back to its normal rhythm.
You might want to take a few more deep breaths,
A few more sighs.
And when you're ready,
Just begin to slowly open your eyes.
