Welcome to this guided sleep journey. In this session, we’ll use gentle belly breathing to calm your mind and relax your body. As you settle into a comfortable position, you’ll be invited to welcome sleep and embrace rest. The soothing meditation will help quiet busy thoughts, slow down your heart rate, and guide you into a state of deep relaxation. Allow yourself to be carried by your breath as you drift peacefully toward restful, restorative sleep. Photo by Lorenzo Castellino Music by Grand_Project

Transcript

Welcome to this meditation that helps you relax before you sleep.

You can do this practice in a comfortable seated position or even lying down on your back.

As you settle in,

Rest your palms with a gentle smile.

Softly close your eyes when ready.

Now tune into your breath,

Connecting with the natural rhythm of your breath,

Feeling the gentleness of your in-breath and out-breath.

Everything is perfect at this moment.

You are allowed to feel good.

You are allowed to feel relaxed.

Now bring your awareness into your belly,

Allowing yourself to breathe slowly and deeply.

Up your diaphragm.

As you breathe out,

Relax your diaphragm.

Breathe in,

Open up your diaphragm.

Breathe out,

Relaxing your diaphragm.

Slowly opening up.

Breathe out,

Relaxing.

Relaxing your diaphragm.

Keep breathing with this rhythm on your own pace.

Offering yourself a sense of peace,

Presence,

And stillness with each expansion and relaxation.

Noticing the rhythm of your belly breathing for a few more rounds.

Beautiful.

Now relax your body and your breath.

Feeling thankful for where you are.

Feeling thankful for how you feel.

As you breathe,

Repeat the affirmations silently in your mind.

I embrace rest.

Breathe in.

I welcome sleep.

I embrace rest.

I welcome sleep.

I embrace rest.

Welcoming sleep and embracing rest with each breath.

Your mind calms down.

Your body relaxes.

You are safe.

When you are ready,

Simply go to sleep or open your eyes if you wish to.

May your sleep be filled with peace,

Love,

And contentment.

Sleep well,

Dear one.
